Don't think there is a DC in the game that hasn't done something similar or worse.

I did worse as an OC last season. I had 3 AI holes each cost me a game with the same team (e.g. we're down by one, 15 seconds left, in FG range, we run a dive instead of kicking a FG to win). I have never had it happen even once before. It was pretty embarrassing.

Well, I cannot see my retired dots for some reason to find the game. I kicked a FG in OT vs the New York Warriors. Believe it was the playoffs after a 16-0 season. From my 20, 1st and 10, very first play of OT. Wanted to cry and rage at the same time.

the worst one ever was this one team who was leading with a minute left, instead of rushing to kill the clock decided to pass. Pick 6, they lose.

I bet every coordinator has a story like these.....

I once meant to change the starting ball spot in my Goalline AI input from 'Opponent 5' to 'Opponent 3' and accidentally changed it to 'Own 3'. Of course the ending ball spot was 'Opponent Goal'. First game of the playoffs and we ran an I Slam the entire game. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th down. Never punted. It was a scrub league and we actually won the game.

It happens. It's amazing with all the prep you do with your AI over the seasons that no matter how many seasons in the sim can always throw you a wildcard or something you haven't seen or accounted for.

the sim and the quality of opponents has me updating the AI and plays every single offseason and at various times throughout the season
