Having been in charge of interns when I was a scientist I will agree w/ RyanCane. When I would get an intern they would wash glassware and clean the lab. Maybe it depends on the industry.

Meh I did a little more than mailboy, basically an errand-boy but it really isn't about jumping into the craft. Anyone who thinks they are going to actually be asked at 18 years old to take on significant responsibilities involved in running a NFL team isn't very bright. Right now it's all about proving my work ethic and getting a foot in the door. This isn't an easy profession to get into so proving myself as a hard worker and making connections is all I am trying to do.

Yup. Internships do 2 things.

1) Get you a close look at the industry so you know if you like it or not
2) Add to resume, in exchange for cheap slave labor

Plus, once you're there, you can try and network to make some friends that might help you later when you have more qualifications and things on the resume so they can justify hiring you.

Yep, you both are correct. Basically, I am ok with being a slave now(not like I am doing anything else with my time) to make sure I get a leg up when I get older. Football is what I love and is what I want to do. I figure you are living a pretty great life if you get paid to do what you love.

Ah, so young and full of ideas. I thought that way when I was in college as well. Once I got in the real world and out of the college bubble I learned the real key to living a "pretty great life" is simply....making a lot of money. Money = Happiness

Working for commission with uncapped earning potential is also pretty nerve wracking though.

That's pretty sad. And far from the truth. Money can help but it doesn't equal happiness. Lots of miserable wretches with tons of money.

After listening to Dana White on the Radio the other day and listening to the Mat Mcbriar/Dpride bitchfest on GLB radio I am 99% sure Dpride is Dana White.

There are a lot more miserable wretches w/ out money. Why do you think money is the #1 cause of divorce? Why do people work? I work so I can make as much money as possible.
