silver lining - season 20 might be a very fun and full rookie class!

I've always thought it would be great if there was a server wipe and everyone started over at rookie at the same time (but I know it will never happen and many would hate that)

that would be awesome if they announced it a season before and told everyone and gave everyone thier stars

I would like that, the problem would be subsequent seasons, everyone would be packed in one tier, they would have to change the way it is now.

Yeah, it appears that these changes should help with the outside run but Hammered is still tanking. Big opportunity for you to make another Championship and Ladder run probably. No pressure. Haha

that's how it started though - teams did drop out and reset in seasons 2 and 3, etc. Also I think the high activity tiers in seasons 1-3 made for a strong retention rate.

don't listen to me though - just an old man thinking fondly of the 'good old days'!

Look at my three scrims I ran today. Huge changes. My Backup HB is actually getting about 1/3 of rushing plays.

Overall, scoring is down and it looks more like a football game than a pinball machine.

Though I'm going to build Morn as a pinball and see what happens!

For what it's worth after just a few games:

You need Depth.
You need high Conditioning still with that Depth.

You still need 65+ Conditioning for most positions.
You also need backups.

Single HB teams are going to struggle a lot, and it may spell the end of S* laden teams due to back-ups being needed at last.

They went waaay overboard on the conditioning nerf. This change pretty much forces teams who rely on a single S* at any position to rebuild their entire team. Seems like a pretty big overkill when you could have just tweaked conditioning a tiny bit and focused more on making power running scale better (ie notbeing useless at less than 70 but not being OP at 85 and above). The fact that they didnt give time to test the changes or respec makes this very poor customer service.

In addition, the game plays much slower and it is VERY unaesthetic. I can only imagine how crappy rookie will be

This change certainly hurts BSB a lot but it's all good. We are not the only team effected. While it is rough for many of us right now it is probably good for the future of the sim. The energy change appears to be the most impactful change of the season from what I can tell as it is crazy different and compounds the lessening of the gravitation change. I am still fine with it and I will try to adjust throughout the season to see if BSB can stay afloat with no backup safeties, only 3 WRs and no backup HB. With a very thin tier it may also be difficult to find bodies to add depth if I choose to do so. But I am still not upset. This is a big shake up and just might be enough to keep teams like myself from having 9-11+ S* players on a roster and allow us to "share" those S* players with other team rosters to ensure that we have depth at all of the necessary positions. If you want a player to remain on the field you cannot just go crazy on conditioning. You are going to need solid toughness and probably quality heart as well which seems fine to me. We will see if that theory holds up but long term this is probably good like I said.

not sure they went "WAY" overboard as thsi should have been the way it was originally. No team uses one running back the entire game or 2 different WRs. To be honest with a S* laden team in real life due to cap you have no depth either.

Sure its more realistic; but NO warning was given and now teams like mine are screwed with the season starting tomorrow and no time to adjust. Massive changes like this should be PHASED IN and TESTED BEFOREHAND, not slapped together like a college kid writing a last minute term paper

They probably took MORE time testing this aspect and/or tweaked the initial changes because they may have been too harsh or too light which is why it was released later. BSB is going to be hurting for a while due to the change but we can deal with it. Hopefully our FG game and defense is good enough. LOL

Edit: Plus this will probably shake up offensive PBs and I don't know about everybody else but mine have mostly been static for like 8 seasons with minor tweaks here and there.

Their modus operandi is not to give notice.

Except for the Kicker roster change.

Cause that was big.

So big it was announced with a forum post.

Buried in a thread.

That most people didn't see.

And the ones that saw it didn't believe it.

So yeah, there was that.

We are also looking at this at high heat.. wonder how things will look once the temperatures cool? Should we have gatorade ability to fend off the heat?
