ofcourse its possible, thats the whole point of the cushion and the backpedal.

Not nearly every time though.

WRs have the advantage of knowing which route they are running, if there is that much speed difference between them that over 20-30 yards they should get burnt at least 7 times. Like I say its an exaggerated and very simple example, but you are telling me that lets say Odell beckham lines up (4.4) against even the fastest Olineman in greg robinson (4.84) that in a go route.

There is rarely a CB that is that much slower than a WR in football, hence why with a cushion etc it is fine to do, however in this game some CBs have such low speed they should get burnt.

If you show me a 80spd 80quickness WR that doesn't burn his opposition then I will agree.

UNtil then, I am happy that the 90 speed 30 quickness joes are not burning anyone.

Again, I find it laughable that almost every "good" CB out there at the Journeyman level runs the 40 at over 5.0. It's unrealistic to think that a slow CB could keep up with a fast WR on a go route. CBs have been allowed to ignore the physical attributes for too long.

Let's equate Journeyman to college football, since the next level is Professional. If you have a CB who runs 5.24 in the 40, there isn't a college in the country at any level who would recruit him. Hell, unless the high school team is really bad, they wouldn't be playing there either.

Ever feel like the combine stuff has caused more confusion than it's been worth?

scrap the combine....or more simply: make it default to show the trophies instead of the combine (I find it annoying that when I switch it to awards it doesn't stay switched)

Looks like the pass power conundrum is over,

if you want to hit your WR deep, your QB better have some power to get it there.

My point is still valid. Slow CBs wouldn't even make a high school team.

irl slower CBs just have to be smarter and have to have a wider skillset.
faster cbs dont need to be as smart because they have stupid speed to catch up after making an error.

I have friends who were never fast and played CB in HS, in fact they were so slow, if they made it into college, they were often moved to linebacker or safety.

I think this is the point they got moved by the time it got too competitive. There's not a whole load of smarts to defending a go route other than its a sprint race in simplicity.

Is it ok now to ever use cover 1? Still scared after last night.

All I'm doing against dookie there is dropping bombs.

I went to a Division II college, and all of our corners ran at least in the 4.6 - 4.7 range, or they didn't see the field.
