I think you're putting too much stock in "being rewarded with a playoff game".
Getting into the playoffs from a weak division then getting destroyed really isn't going to make all of the other owners in other leagues green with envy and make them quit.
If you are getting beat on in a strong division, then you'd just get beat on in the playoffs, so I'm not seeing how that matters. Just consider the last three games of the season the playoffs to decide which team from your division gets to move on.

The Drunks would be in the hunt if we were in one of the other two divisions but we are enjoying the challenge! They are forcing us to improve. We'll get 'em next season.

This isn't about my team... I own no team. Also every one of the teams I'm on plays our division one more time this season so we aren't even out of playoff contention yet. :/ thanks for the love there guys.

I agree it can be frustrating when the divisions are unbalanced...but that is the way the NFL is too..
As a Texans fan - I had years and years in Peyton Manning's shadow - that sucked having no chance at the playoffs...especially back when the NFC west was awful....
Same thing for the jets/dolphins/bills having to be in the Patriots division...(or in the old days with the Astros in division with the cardinals).
It is a bummer - but it exists in every professional sport - so logically it will exist here too.
Even if they tried to re-seed the divisions every year - there would be problems as teams gutted / went inactive / got new coordinators / etc.
Frustrating sometimes - but unsolvable

You mean kinda how they completely reworked how college football was because creating a haves-have not's dichotomy has inherent weaknesses and how they're moving to a more open playoff system because it'll be vastly more profitable?
