Always is pretty harsh but only a few people like you wanted to completely turn a blind eye to the fact that outside rushing was so overpowered. When they routinely get positive yards, and only need 2-3 pancakes or broken tackles to go for 9000000 yard touchdowns.

As for my positions on the various changes to the running game.
OP'd QB runs from Goalline got axed = Best Change Ever. Anti-Run stance
HB Sweeps from Goalline getting axed was overkill but I was fine with it since I find pure rushing boring to watch game in game out. I can see you hating me here. Anti-Run Stance
The new defensive pursuit for outside runs was a good change. Again anti-run.
Offensive Tackles for both inside and outside runs was amazing change. I was happy about it but still a little worried about it until I saw it in action. Pro-Run Stance
DE Ghosting was stupid. Pro-Run
Cutbacks for runners was a good change on outside runs (once they adjusted it). Pro -Run
and now the better blocking logic is a good change as it mostly gets rid of Ghosting. Pro-Run again

So I'd say my track record is about 70% for nerfs 30% for buffs. I still believe my anti-run stance was justified back in those seasons though. Now I'm anti-deep pass abuse. So I'm sure you'll find ways to not like me for that too.

uhm no? I mean last 2 seasons...why the fuck would I talk about those seasons with my specific words? I also agreed that QB rushes were OP at that time...the only thing I said back then was that outside rushing then needs new play design and smarter blocking...so...looking back, was I wrong with that? lol

Drunk or stupid?

GG indeed. Nice defensive stand at the end and then a nice drive to run the clock out.

Peeti, go away from a tier thread you have nothing to do with. No one cares what you have to say about anything.

This. Maybe it was a mistake since rushing has been "improved" but either way it's much more interesting game planning now that I have some passing options. It also lets me try some stuff out for when I reset this thing and build the offense as balanced from the ground up.

There is definitely some work to do though as today's game shows: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/216024 My team is still putting up baseball type scores on the score board. I'm just glad my defense keeps me in so many games.

This is pretty much what I did towards the end of last season. Used my team as a prototype to Super Villians.

Next round of games!

We are already down to only 8 (i think) unbeaten teams left in journeyman. After last weeks flurry of high powered teams facing off against each other, we got quite a bit of movement in the top 10. I'll do predictions for the top 10, and some notable teams as well. The top 10 is how the teams appear on the team rankings page http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/rankings?tier=Journeyman

Predictions in 3....2.....1.....

#1 No Name vs #9 Mannheim Steamroller - A top 10 matchup to start us off, and we get another doosy! No name claims the top spot this week after impressive victories over PoRN and HAHA. Mannheim has looked pretty good, and they have added a new dimension to their offense. Even with the addition of a passing game it just won't be enough to beat No name. Mannheims defense will keep them in the game, but No Name keeps the top spot. No Name wins 17-3

#2 Tosche Station Grenadiers vs #11 Portland Ronin - The first time we see Tosche Station in the rankings this year. Tosche was the last undefeated team standing last year. Tosche has looked good so far this year, but a big question remains, can the win the important games. Inconsistency has plagued them since rookie, Portland will be a good test for them. Portland always seems to be a tough matchup, and this game will be close. Tosche wins 20-16

#3 EEA 2.0 vs #8 Phoenix Aztecs - Peta has the Aztecs off to a fast start, starting 3-0 but without any major opponents. EEA 2.0 has looked great so far, including an impressive win over Bloody. While Phoenix has looked good to start the year, I just think EEA is to powerful. EEA wins 31-10

#4 San Diego Sperm Whales vs #18 FBU Fire - Sperm whales have done exactly what you would expect from a good team, and thats to beat inferior opponents handily. In their 3 games this year, they have done just that. FBU won't be as easy as their previous opponents, but even though FBU pulls out some upsets every year, I don't think its this game. Whales win 24-10

#5 Salty Run Back vs. #13 Crystal Palace Eagles - This might be the matchup of the week for me (Mannhiem vs No Name), we have Salty that has looked impressive in the early season with a strong win against a pesky NW Storms team, but CPU will be their first huge test. CPE was going to be in my notable teams writeup, but hey here they are. After last weeks flop of a game against Virgins, they almost suffered another loss at the hands of HKD. After a first game demolition of EMNU it looked like they may fight for the top spot in Journeyman, but now they are looking a little shaky. This game will be close, but I am going with Salty because of the ground attack. It will be a little to much for CPE, Salty wins 31-28 in a close one.

#6 I've STILL Never Had Sex vs #21 Blackwater Bears - Virgins have looked like a legit contender this year with their improved running game. They made me look silly by doubting them last ladder game against CPE (they used no lube). They draw Blackwater, which shouldnt be to big of a test for them. Poor Blackwater is better than their record indicates. I am not sure who they pissed off, how many mirrors they broke, or how many ladders they walked under to get 3 of their first 4 games against Whales, Salty and now Virgins. Virgins whisper in Blackwater ear "shhhhhhhhh hold onto something, this will all be over soon...." 56-3

#7 Northern Uprising vs #12 Panty Obliterating Rectal Ninjas - Northern uprising finds themselves in the top 10 at the start of the year again. Last year, they hung in for awhile, beating teams they should beat before fading in the latter part of the year. They get an immediate tough match-up against a top tier team. PoRN is one of the top teams in the tier, that got severely penalized for an early loss to one of the best teams in the tier. There is no reason to think PoRn stays out of the top 10 very long, let alone the top 5. PORN will make short work of Uprising 50-10

#8 Phoenix Aztecs vs #3 EEA 2.0 (prediction above)

#9 Mannheim Steamroller vs #1 No Name (prediction above)

#10 Colorado Springs Mambas vs #14 Bloody Slaughterhouse - Colorado Springs gets their first taste of the top 10. At 2-1 they are one of 2, 1 loss teams in the top 10. In the past I would have waived off their early season success as playing easy opponents, but they are a legit 2-1 right now. Wins over HKD and Sin City Saints is fairly impressive, but I think their loss to EEA 2.0 was the most impressive. Yes they lost 14-0 but they really gave EEA a great game. Looks like YTWins defense is looking pretty staunch over there, and once their chemistry recovers from all of their defensive moves they could be dangerous. Could they be this years Crystal Palace? Bloody rebounded from their last weeks ladder loss to EEA by taking it out on Reno. This is going to be closer than I would have thought earlier, but I still think Bloody is too good for Colorado, but the Mambas keep it fairly close. Bloody wins 31-17

Notable teams that havent been mentioned

Omaha BEEF vs Buffalo Bison - Omaha should win this one fairly easily. 46-3

Hilariously Amazing & Happy Axolotls vs Trenton Devils - Easy win for HAHA 67-0

Unless some other teams got noticeably better this season, then Salty vs CP Eagles is my matchup of the week.

Mannheim is going to have some growing pains figuring out the right balance for his new offense.
