I missed the first half. I was there at the end. I got the pictures and report. All the guy said was there was a small leak. I have no clue if he went under the house. I have a crawlspace with to entrances. It's pretty easy to access. (I'm not on a slab, but it's not just blocks. I have a foundation around it.)

It's easy access, he prob just looked in and seen the leak, but didn't crawl in to examine anything else. Idk. Either that, or he just didn't give a fuck.

When you get paid by the job instead of by the hour, you tend to get people rushing the job to get to the next one. When you pay by the hour, you tend to get people taking too long in order to run up the bill.

then it really is your fault to begin with. lesson learned and now you know. always do the walk through with them, that way you know precisely what you're getting yourself into. I don't think you will be able to get them to honor anything. which sucks, and it's a shitty lesson to learn the hard way.

I had other parties there on my behalf. I'm pretty sure, if I took it to small claims court, I'd win easily. It's just not really worth it to fight.

Edit: In my opinion. Consider that I saved $6,000 through the whole process. (Not counting the money that we've saved over the years.) Fighting for $400 just seems pointless. I'm not that petty.

I'll send an itemized list of repairs and ask for him to honor the warranty. If not, fuck it.

But, I do take personal responsibility. So, I'm not saying you're incorrect. I always take personal responsibility for everything, even when it's not my fault. I take the mindset that I should expect people to fuck up. That's why I saved money.

fuck? 400 for a plumbing issue? yeah, you're gettin out pretty decent. had a pump fail in the middle of winter that suddenly cost me a quick 1200 total. of course, that's septic related and not plumbing, but I still had to take a bath in stagnant shit water from a pipe in my basement as I was chasing the problem down. good times.

There was an inspector around here that was caught on more than one occasion in a lie about walking the roof of a house. He would always be the first one there and would magically always be putting the last strap back on his ladder as someone pulled up.

Sorry about your friend. Seems like the police are gonna have a lot to answer about how that guy was allowed to go free.

not the same thing as being there yourself. when we bought our house I walked through the whole house with the inspector so that I knew exactly what I was getting.

his killer is dead but this provides little relief.

the hole left from the loss of George is large.
