Bourbon is my favorite brown liquor, but I do it straight. A good bourbon is for sippin'.

If I'm doing a shot, I like good ol' Jack Daniels. I like a bit of kick and burn if I'm shooting something.

Mixed drink is the gin and tonic. I like Coke, but I can't stand using it as a mixer.

Oh speaking of scotch, had some Glenlivet 12 year that we bought a little over 6 years ago. That scotch is no less than 18 years old, and my god you can tell. Almost tried to slam a shot of it before I saw what it was, last time I tried to do that with an old scotch I damn near choked.

Haven't had more than maybe 5 good scotches so I'm not nearly on the level some of you are at with exposure to it yet but it was one of the most complex and nice ones I've ever had.

I haven't been exposed to too many "good" scotches, either. I may change my tune at some point when it comes to scotch, but haven't found one that I really like. I've never tried Dalwinny or even Glenlivet for that matter.

dalwinny is a great single malt. not a lot of initial bite to it. great with a cigar. I prefer them neat, but on the rocks is also good if you're not into "how scotches are meant to be drank," which to the uber uptight is at room temperature. it's the same thing with people who prefer cask beers instead of draft beers.

look at us, with all the agreement today.
I can handle a mild aged scotch, but some of my friends are into scotch's like Laphroig, which are incredibly peaty.
basically taste like liquified peat moss. fucking nasty

Laphroaig and Lagavulin are too peaty and blended Scotch is crap. Try Glenfiddich or Glenlivet

Whenever my dad's family gets together we always finish off the night with a glass of scotch. Its always either Glenlivet or Glenfiddich and its always good stuff.
