I take responsibility with the hopes that we can really get things back in order.
Wrong response. Censorship only pisses people off more. Given the emotions, I think you've actually poured gas on the fire.
Be open. If you think people are not going to find an avenue, then you're mistaken. The actions are essentially like the ostrich. putting it's head in the sand.
Again, this is not pointed at you. By accounts, you're fine. Just be aware of the impact of the actions!
The above post came from the top SA thread. The mod's title was I deleted a bunch of threads (or something like that).
=============
Guys, we're over complicating this. I still don't know what caused it. I just know the class of person involved (and BTW - I've never known him outside the game). Instead of deleting threads (another piece of evidence that there are major structural problems here), the following should have happened:
It's simple guys. Bort should have said publicly, "Satch, if you're not our top customer, there are few in your class [adapted from B Phillips]. I know you would not do something that would hurt the game or it's players. I will investigate what we could have done better at GLB to prevent this situation and get back to you. Please accept my most sincere apologies while I fix this."
It's that easy. There's no "admission of guilt," just an admission that Satch is a great guy, and the boss will figure it out.
Couldn't agree more... this sums up everything... shouldn't take a player to be able to see this before Bort, and It shouldn't take Bort seeing this then offering the olive branch... No one should need to tell Bort what to say, he should have known right away how to pacify the situation really easily. It's like the Head coaches who stand by their Coordinators in the NFL until the team goes to crap. Loyalty is great... being stubborn gets you nowhere. I'm out of here for now... good luck guys...

TH is no longer a GM.
A GM?
I hate you.
Edit: Bort, I think speak for everyone when I say that you have regained a sliver of respect for yourself, the management, and the game.
Definately!!! The first step to redemption!!!

I've stayed out of this ordeal to this point but can't stand down any longer. I now have several players on several teams that will be quitting the game, the market will be flooded with high level free agents from so many teams disbanding and many teams will get stacked.
I had nothing to do with this, don't know the full story and quite frankly don't give a shit.
I do know this game has gone on way too long without enough moderators, a very delayed customer support and little or no enforcement of the rules. We have ready for months that "you will be looking into things" but ultimately nothing gets done. This is the root of the problem and unless this gets fixed we will continue to see mass complaints.
I'm currently over $2k into this game which is stupid looking back because of the lack of stability. I understand that there are a million issues needing to be handled and that you (Bort) can only handle them so quickly. I understand completely about trying to expand the game as fast as possible, really I do but you can't expand without having the infrastructure in place to handle the load. I am a business owner and think that I know enough in this area of the game to state the foundation for the game is broken and it needs to be fixed quickly and correctly before the building falls down.
Imagine Wal-Mart building 200 new stores but forgetting to have the distribution center, trucks and management in place. This is exactly what this game reminds me of.
I have a team, GM a dozen others, have close to 70 players and 3 times I have tried to use support I either didn't get a response or the response was 100% unsatisfactory after way too much time had passed.
I'm not one that believes in going about posting on a public thread about stuff that should be held in private but my past attempts at messages have gone unanswered and now this issue is putting the team that I have worked so hard to put together, the players that I have spent so much time building and the 200k flex points in my account at jeopardy.
There have been over 840,000 characters created in this game and I know the money if flowing in. If my biggest accounts called me up tomorrow morning and told me they refused to do business with me until my manager was canned then I'd say don't let the door hit you on the ass and I certainly wouldn't be talking about my customers. One accout would be one thing but we are talking about hundreds here. Either you are loyal to a fault or you are completely blind to the situation at hand unfolding. Either problem combined with the lack of fundamental stability this game has is leading will probably lead to huge negative results.
Quite frankly, I see this entire situation as one that could be handled quikly, easily and one that can be used to improve the game.
Here are my suggestions, feel free to use them, consider them or ignore them.
1) More moderators with a pyramid of authority. Just like the GM offers that can be sent out to players on a team there are some guys who should be able to handle just about anything thrown at them and some that could handle the hundreds of small daily problems.
2) Enforce the rules. Very simple, start banning multiple accounts, enforce the rules failry and evenly and place a more disciplined approach to the forums. I don't care about cursing but you see blatant attempts to bend the rules daily on stuff like the free agent forums where players post their player for trade or vice versa. Enforce the small rules so people don't think they can get away with murder.
3) Hire some people that can take a lot of pressure off you on the business end of the game so you can spend more time with the bugs and fixing the problems that you know need to be fixed.
4) The constant changes and lack of consistency with the game has to be addressed. I understand it is a beta game but making changes in mid season can completely change the outcome of a season.
5) Expansion needs to be slowed until the foundation of the game is in place to handle the load. This can be done quite easily. Boosting a player and buying a team shouldn't cost anywhere near the same to start with so simply go up in price to buy a team. The expansion hurts because if everyone has a team and everyone has players on multiple teams then it makes the games less important and therefore the players are less involved with the team because they are spread so thin. Then when these teams get sold players get fed up and quit. Let the game catch up for a season or two, you may have to make less money short term but I promise in the long term it will benefit you, the game and the players.
To the players quitting the game because of one person think about this. You are letting your team down, you are letting the game down. You will cause many others to quit because of your actions and the spirit of the game is getting hammered. There is no question that the person should be shown the door but let this play out before making a hasty decision. Again, I have nothing to do with the drama but it is already heavily impacting me.

My advice would be for SA to show everyone that we can have respect and keep the rest of this thread that way, not to use this as a childish avenue to now call TH names...
Do it the right way SA... Intelligent discussion... Everything doesn't just disappear now that TH is no longer a MOD, but its a step in the right direction.

Satch, oddly enough I hear that a mod position just opened up. What a coincidence! LOL

Couldn't have said it better myself. Bort has taken the action that was required. Continuing to bring up Harper at this point makes you no better than him.
Justice has been served. Time to start the rebuilding.

Where the F is a public apology to Satchmo? Hell, he already has one foot out the door. I don't even know that an attempt at resolution will be enough to bring him back. That is how serious this is issue, Bort.
Further, do not think that my threat is empty or meaningless. I can think of 25+ Longhorn affiliated teams off of the top of my head, and I promise you that they will follow us out the the door. You have only seen a small representation of it so far on this thread. My teams have been notified and are standing by awaiting word from Satchmo.
That could be under-estimating the number, I dont have a team, but I own 28 players, used to own a team, and spend about 500 bucks a year on here, I too will follow Paul and all other longhorns, not becuase they are doing it, no because this guy is more of a brother to us than any other person that isn't related to me. Something proper needs to be done!
