Right, this is a "run block awareness" situation, not a "lead block awareness" situation. Considering that centers can't even add points to lead block awareness I assume they never go into lead block mode.

The actions of the center are a pretty good example of how the run blocking dynamic works. Run blocking awareness is like a halo around the player, it gets bigger with the more awareness he has (I also believe that higher awareness keeps him from missing an awareness check). When you pause the play right after the ball is snapped you'll notice that the outside linebackera are the closest unblocked defenders to the center so he heads off sideways to go block one of them even though it would be much more helpful for the play for him to go forward and block one of the safeties.

But this is stupid. A center should never look across the field to block when his assignment is straight ahead. Their "halo" should be more of a semi circle or 45 degrees that looks straight ahead.

Hey, I agree, I was just giving you my opinion on why that play occurred like it did.

Yeah...I agree with you.

So you were a little unlucky. Your 4WR runs only came up 29.8% of the time, when you had it set to run 35.7% of the time. Not a big difference, but if you wanted to run 4WR more, the frequency should have been adjusted down for the 1, 2, and 3 WR runs or you should have added another 4WR run to the playbook.

And with the more diverse playbooks giving a boost to an offense. What's wrong with adding 4WR Dive Weak and 4WR Slam to that? Noone knows what the threshold is, and how big or small 1 play past the threshold will give you, but why not?

I didn't want to spam too much in case he decided to shut that play down. My main beef now is the center logic.

It also happens to Guards when facing a 3 man front (the guard goes after an outside LB instead of blocking the MLB infront of him). The same dynamic can also be seen when lead blockers suddenly stop, spin around, and start blocking a defender behind the play (the defender was probably slightly closer to the blocker than the intended blocking target infront of the play).

yeah, I lost us the game on offense. Wanted to run outside more and we couldn't make contested catches. As a result you got a crap ton of time with the ball. GG

How much carry grip and carry awareness (to fire B4I)?

Endgame HBs are running with 60-90 carrying grip typically. Powerbacks in the 70-90 range. Elusive backs in the 60-80 range.

And there's the matter of morale/energy. If you're back has a lower morale/energy bar than his tackler, then the tackler's getting more juice from his skill investments than your HB is getting.

It all matters.

It'll work if you have a fast FS to cover WR3 and you don't give them the ball alot early game because Cover 1 is apparently amazing vs. inside runs

GG Sperm Whales, that was certainly about as bold of a playcall as I could have thought would happen. Actually...I flat out didn't think it would happen.

You put so much pressure on me, I mean this 3 out was you sacking me every single play:
