As a green bay fan, fuck the replacement refs and Goodell

I hate Green Bay and Seattle, but Green Bay needs to stop whining, they had plenty of opportunities to win that game. Make one of those field goals a touchdown, dont get the late hit on the QB and you get that pick, your TD drive was extended by another bogus pass interference call on kam chancellor, and frankly when it comes down to it stop trying to pad your stats with a pick and knock the damn ball down, it was 5 packers to two seahawks in the back of the end zone, knock it out of bounds or forward and you take it out of the refs hands.

I do agree that goodell is garbage and the replacement refs are horrible though.

It wasn't a late hit on the QB, were you even watching the game? The QB got hit right after he threw and the defender was already falling into him and was outside the pocket making it legal to hit him low. That roughing was a terrible call, how about the PI on shield on the seahawks 2nd to last drive where the WR basically tackled him and they somehow call it on the defense? Did a couple calls go GBs way? Sure, but the biggest ones went against them and ultimately cost them a tame they rightfully should have won. You say they had plenty of opportunities but this is the NFL and the other team had opportunities as well. Why should seattle missing out on some of theirs matter less because of the officials? GB has every reason to complain in this case, you only say they need to stop whining because you dislike their team, so your opinion is completely baised and sounds completely baised. The main point here is the officials shouldn't be deciding games in this manner, they should be able to make the correct call and not cost a team that had clearly earned a victory the game. You'd feel the same if it was your team, especially if it cost them a playoff spot or happened in a big game.

There have always been horrible calls in the NFL with strange interpretations of the rules. Yes, the replacement refs suck, but it's not like the real refs are perfect. What happens the first time when one of them blows a call? It's like we all forgot that real refs make mistakes too.

Two or three seasons ago, the Chargers got hosed when Hochuli ruled the ball slipping out of Cutler's hand was a forward pass and not a fumble. The Chargers picked it up and would have been able to run out the clock. He reviewed it and reversed his call to a fumble but said since he blew his whistle the play was dead when the ball hit the ground. So the Broncos got the ball back and scored the game winning TD on the next play.

We should have been calling for Hochuli's head that season just like we are for the replacement refs now. He cost the Chargers a game. They went to finish 8-8 and sneak into the playoffs, but it was a huge gaff.

I really hope we keep holding the real refs to the same standard when they come back. I want every blown call to be covered ad nauseum just like it is now.

Let me ask you this... if Hochuli made that call on Monday night, would you be complaining as much? Or is it because it was a big bad replacement referee that everyone is so up in arms about it?

To play devil's advocate and to really look at the rules... when does possession occur in football? When the receiver or defender has possession of the ball, both feet on the ground, and either makes a football move or takes it all the way to the ground.

If you watch that replay, Tate has both hands on the ball and his feet hit the ground first. So technically, he had "possession" of the ball before Jennings because Jennings couldn't have possession because he didn't have both feet on the ground yet. I could totally see them explaining it that way.

This reminds me of the Calvin Johnson play where he put the ball on the ground to celebrate a game-winning TD and they said it wasn't a catch.

Everyone knows it was a catch (or interception in this case) but not in the NFL...

LOL, spoken like a true GB honk, i hate seattle far more than Green Bay, born and raised in the bay area, whole family are niners fans, i was rooting for GB, so seattle wasnt tied with the niners. GB had the lead and easily could have knocked the ball down, instead jennings tried for a pick, allowed tate to get both hands on it and put it in the refs hands. He knocks it down and no one is talking about this, there were bad calls all game long on both sides and i agree with you that it wasnt roughing the passer. The point is the packers are complaining like whiny snively little girls, when all they had to do was knock the ball down, instead of trying to pad stats.

As another Vikes fan, I thought it was a tough call, but something that could have been called either way.

By rule, simultaneous possession is awarded to the WR. I think the majority of people are complaining because the CB clearly went over the WR and "appeared", [there's the operative word] to have clear possession when they tumbled towards the ground. Now, on the ground, looks like they both had arms wrapped around the ball. It's a very subjective call, and not sure I completely agree that replacement refs or not don't make 5 out of 10 times.

The confusion is that one ref whistled the play dead [with no time left], giving everyone the impression that it would be ruled an INT, while the other signaled TD.

Tough call, they don't have the luxury of instant replay at the time of the call, and that looks like it would have been hard to overturn.

True. Ancient gave full AI a first shot for the summer, but really doesn't have as much time with university back up.

That and Megaton stunk it up this season, IMO.

We decided to go 50-50 on a casual team reboot this time, so that's where we'll be.

Russell Wilson = Doug Flutie 2.0?

Pack fans at work were saying Tate was guilty of pass interference. I don't know. I would say I think Jennings started with both hands on the ball mid-air and Tate started with one. They both finished with both hands on the ball.

As for the refs, how is the league not liking it. I thought they said it was big TV ratings since everyone wants to see what they'll do next.

Are you guys retiring all your Megaton dots or are you keeping any?
