If it is not a national chain, some background and information would be nice for the rest of us.
Point taken. National chains are great to satisfy a *need* for a burrito and the lack of knowledge of the burrito joints in the area. Moes > Chipotle > Baja Fresh in my mind. Never had Qdoba.
Anna's Taqueria is a burrito joint with restaurants throughout the Boston area. I am not from Boston, but visit quite often and found the place through the burritoblog.com. It fits the profile of a dive, but also the high traffic requirement you stated previously. I haven't been there recently enough to give a more detailed explanation, but am looking forward to my next trip.

Qdoba vs. Chipotle seems to depend on who you ask. I prefer Qdoba, but I've got a bit of a Hispanic background and I think I pay more attention to the rice than most people do (Chipotle has awful rice)

I like Chipotle's meats better, but Qdoba has better salsa (that habanero salsa is really great).
I gotta try Moe's, but they only have like 2 locations in NYC and if I'm going out of my way for Moe's, I might as well get Dos Toros, which is really good. http://www.dostoros.com/
Absolutely. The countdown is on for the one opening a few blocks from my house.

dat freebirds
Sneak Preview at lunch tomorrow. First 250 that donate $5 to Red Cross get a free Freebird and a drink.
Official Grand Opening is Tuesday. First 25 in line get a Fanatic Card loaded with Free Burritos for a year (52 burritos- 1 per week). Yes, I'm taking off work to be there. Yes, I'm old enough to know better. No, I don't care what you or my wife think. My kids are mad because they have to be in school and can't be there, too. Besides, you have to be 18 or older to get the card. If not for that, I'd be the "World's Best Father" and take them out of school for it. They'll just have to wait until Tuesday night.
