This has probably been suggested already, but here's something that would help elusive HBs without helping power backs at the same time, plus helping all the other positions that have access to First Step:

Lightning Reflexes
This player has incredible, almost superhuman reaction time. Each level of Lightning Reflexes gives a +3% bonus to the success rate of the First Step special ability.

Basically the same thing as Quick Feet, just for First Step. Made it a +3% bonus instead of +2 because power hbs get +3% with Bruiser while elusives get only +2% with Slippery, so payback! Hell, maybe go crazy and make it +4% or even +5%

woulds this work if the player doesnt have anything in the first step SA?

Punter VA
I am sure it has been said somewhere along the line, but i believe there should be a back spin VA for a punter. For example, instead of the ball just bouncing forward it has a chance to trigger inside the ten or five yard line where it sticks or maybe even bounces backwards. It happens all the time in the NFL. I know this game is not made to mimic the NFL, but I think it would add something to a position that does not have many VA's.

The VA Motivational Speaker needs to be scaled back a bit. It is unreasonable that any player on the sideline can get the attention of everyone else on the bench and have a chance to raise their morale in the time it takes to complete a play. I suggest, that the skill impact the player with the lowest morale (choose one at random if tie) and 3-8 random other players on the bench (assumed to be seated nearby). It seems like an exploit to use the kicker or the punter to give these motivational speaches, but I'm not going to complain about that. I think if we limit the number of impacted players, that is sufficient.

Defensive players work very hard in a variety of ways to demoralize the offense. It shifts the balance of power back to the offense if one guy and undo all that morale busting by sitting on the sideline waiting to punt.

I fully support this post. Morale-killing builds for defensive players no longer are viable because of the sheer number of times Motivational Speaker can fire in a game. Since it's every single play, putting it on a punter potentially gives a 75% chance to raise morale for every single player on the bench. So not only does the entire defense get boosted when the offense is on the field, but also offensive players sitting on the bench. With reasonable rotations, morale will never get dropped since MS activates so much. It's an unnatural balance shifter since ballcarriers have their PUNTER of all things raising their morale constantly throughout the game, rendering skills like Big hit, Aura of Intimidation, Snarl, Trash Talk, etc. entirely USELESS.

These two people know what they are talking about.

I can speak from experince with the Punter and his MS ability. My punter currently puts everything for his vet abilities into motivational speaker and it has helped us out alot. I have noticed that this season our team throws less interceptions and less funbles happen as well. In games we get blown out in there of course is no difference, but in the games that are close it could be something that just gives us that little bit of edge to win out the game.

Has there been any indication of when/if these new VAs will be put into effect? (say, next season?)

A lot of these are really good. I will have to consider balance and how easy it would be to add before making any decisions. Keep in mind that I would want VA's to not overlap with existing SA's. I also envision them more as bonuses towards certain existing situations or actions, as opposed to completely new action abilities (though if it's a really cool idea, don't hesitate to suggest it). Also, I'm not so sure on ones that give you extra XP, etc. Those seem like no brainer "everyone will take it" VA's as opposed to something you might not choose. I'd like there to be reasons to choose and reasons to not choose most VA's.

Keep 'em coming if you come up with more, for sure.

What about a pulling lineman VA? Like a +1% bonus per level to max velocity when pulling, or something like that?

1% bonus to speed and/or agility isn't going to make much difference for most interior Olinemen.

even a 15% bonus will only likely be 5-6 speed points.

I'd suggest a 2% bonus per level.

I agree. When you do situational things, there has to be a big bonus. To outweigh always getting +1% speed, getting a boost JUST when pulling on a block, you should get like 3% to both speed and agility per level imo. Keep in mind, he could get there and still not block well....

True, there should be increased usefulness for situational VAs, look at Clutch, it has a 5% chance to activate/level, meaning that at lvl 15 there is a 75% chance it will activate in the situations it is applicable to. Granted, the actual usefulness of Clutch is in question, but it has a very god chance of activating when maxxed out.

Also, even using 3%/level increase in speed/velocity for a lineman might not be very much (except for the OT's that have raised Speed/Agility greatly to combat Speedy DEs). Bort will get the final say in amounts though.

Unfortunately, without understanding how some numbers translate, no one but you will be able to tell if something like this would be worth taking. After all, it seems like +1% speed would be better than +1% max velocity only when pulling, but the velocity might be much better.

How about a "doesn't really suck at anything" VA- +.5 to any stat under 20, +.3 to any stat under 40, +.1 to any stat under 60.

Updated. I definitely skipped over some, which just seemed either too confusing (Been up for 22 hours on 3 hours of sleep) or too wordy for me to focus on. Either that or repeats, impractical or I just missed them. If you think something is legit, quote it.

Some suggestions may be in the wrong category, too. Feel free to quote and make edit suggestions.
