Top 4 of Seasoned gets some amazing matchups...

1. PORN vs Hillfield Dinos (VET CPU)
2. No Name vs Boston Blizzards (Pro #9)
3. Salty vs Kapitol Killers (Pro #12)
4. HAHA vs East Coast Dragons (Pro #13)

Why face each other when we could play up 2-3 tiers instead?

This has become the norm.

4 of the top 5 teams play vet or pro teams. Only one in tier matchup in the top 10. Not fun but it is what it is at this point.

#1 PORN vs Hillfield Dinos (vet)

Well if you're going to face a vet team this is probably the one you want to face. On one hand you're playing an 0-27 CPU team. On the other it's a vet team. These kind of games are hard to call as are the seasoned vs. pro matchups but what the hell might as well pull some predictions out of my ass. I'll go with PORN here but it's not going to be easy in all likelihood. PORN wins 35-24.

#2 No Name vs Boston Blizzards (pro)

No Name plays the pro team that's been crushed by one seasoned team already. It's still a semi-competent pro team though and the game can go either way. I think this game will come down to whether No Name's defense can limit a pro offense enough for their offense to win the game. This is probably another toss up but I'll go with No Name. No Name wins 28-17.

#3 Salty Runback vs Kapitol Killers (pro)

Difficult matchup for Salty. Kapitol has won some games against decent teams and have kept it close against top flight pro teams but they've also gotten blown out of some games too. They're pretty inconsistent as a whole but against a seasoned team it might not show as much. Salty will probably have to play above themselves to get this win. While I think they can do it I don't know if I have enough confidence to pick them to win. Killers win 24-20.

#4 HAHA vs. East Coast Dragons (pro)

Tough game to call seeing as how HAHA has been on such a roll lately. Dragons are similar to the Killers in that they have some good wins and bad losses and lack consistency. Only difference is I think dragons are slightly worse than the Killers and that can make a big difference between a win and a loss vs a team two tiers lower. I think HAHA pulls this one off 21-14.

#5 EEA vs Zombie Apocalypse (journeyman)

EEA catches a slight break by being the only top 5 team not playing 2 or 3 tiers up. Zombie is no pushover journeyman team though so this isn't that much of a break. That being said though I think EEA is the favorite here unless their offense becomes stagnant. EEA wins 23-14.

#6 Bloody Slaughterhouse vs. Rock City Mayhem (journeyman)

Bloody proved me wrong in a big way last week. To reward them I'll give them this win. Don't let me down. Bloody wins 35-17.

#7 Virgins vs #11 HKD

First in-tier matchup and we're 7 teams in. Pretty sad state of ladder if you ask me. Virgins had a big win against EEA last ladder and look to build on that against a deceptively good HKD team. Should be an interesting game but I think Virgins have to be the favorite here. Virgins win 24-14.

#8 SD Sperm Whales vs Ann Arbor Wolverines (journeyman)

SD gets the short end of the stick here. Wolverines are a solid journey team and they don't lose many games to seasoned teams. SD has their work cut out for them and they should be the underdog here. Wolverines win 28-17.

#9 Crystal Palace Eagles vs Michigan Madness (journeyman)

Not an easy draw for Crystal Palace but not a really difficult one either. Madness have lost to their fair share of seasoned teams and have been on the wrong side of a few blowouts. I think the Eagles are good enough to pull this one out. Eagles win 28-17.

#10 Omaha Beef vs The Fish (journeyman)

Easy win for BEEF. Inactive journey team that shouldn't pose a threat. BEEF wins 35-6.

I would feel pretty good about 35-6 if we were a passing team. But while Fish are on the down slide these days, they pitched a shutout of Empire and held Animal Kingdom to 14. 35 seems like a lot of points to put up as a run team here.

I think I'm just going to focus on the EEA matchup for now. That said, I think with a little tweaking we can take Ann Arbor! As long as Dred doesn't poo the blankets

Unlike some CPU teams, this one is actually full of CPU players. They are much worse than the Pro teams we already faced and this game won't be close.

You guys had trouble containing that HB. Either way it's close from #2-4 so a lot will probably change between now and end of season. Especially with playoffs coming up.

Whoever loses in the 1st round of the playoffs tomorrow between Salty and HAHA will tumble down the ladder ranks. If HAHA beats East Coast Dragons later, we're surely going to leapfrog No Name as well. Although that seems like a tough task. We got crushed by a Vet team, had mixed results against JMan, and have never faced a Pro yet. So...not looking good for our chances.

Yeah - we don't have the tackling skills high enough because there aren't a ton of running teams in our tier. Kind of a nightmare-ish scenario. No Name doesn't do anything particularly well (except maybe blitz) so the games we win are generally won out of out-gameplanning opponents.
