You guys played great. Apparently though our guys didn't like being down. You would take the lead and we would march right back down the field and tie it back up! Very exciting game to the VERY end. Good game South Jersey!

The Spitfires are on a dash to claim a top 4 playoff seed! We still have some tough games ahead of us though.

It wouldn't be fun to have an easy schedule at the end of the season! This way if we finish well and make the playoffs we can feel pretty good about our team. These last 5 weeks will definitely make us earn our spot.

Upcoming Games of the Week - Lots of games this week which could affect the playoff picture:

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Oh Canada vs. AU - The Tigers need a win to move into the last available playoff spot. The Ehs look to win to keep ahead of the Anti-Mods and to keep a grip on home field in the first two rounds of the post season.

The Anti-Mod Squad vs. South Jersey - Two teams are going in opposite directions with the Anti-Mods winners of their last 8 and the Rice Riders losers in their last 3. The Riders will need to change that streak soon to keep one of those last two playoff spots.

Saskatoon vs. Moose Jaw - The Spitfires hope for a win to keep the #4 seed and a guaranteed home playoff game. The Blazers need to end the Spitfires five game win streak to improve their chances of participating in the post season.

YellowKnife vs. Ft. Richardson - The Bandits appear to be virtual locks for the post season, but would like to win out to perhaps move into the #4 seed. The Rangers, however, need some wins just to keep ahold of the #8 seed where they currently sit.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Canadian vs. PEI - Riding a 14 game win streak (including their exciting come from behind victory last week against the Witch Doctors) can the Bacon take care of business at home against the 11-1 Sharks?

Willow Creek vs. Edmonton - Both teams are riding four game win streaks. As the clear favorites, the Phantoms need a win to keep that second playoff seed, and home field for the first two rounds of the postseason. A loss by Edmonton won't take them out of the playoff hunt, but does bring it into question.

Aspermont vs. Moose Jaw - With a late season stretch that includes games against the Bacon, Cheeseburgers, and Bandits, the Roughnecks clearly need this win more than the Mice. In either event, the loser will have a tough hill to climb back into playoff contention.

Upcoming Games of the Week

WESTERN CONFERENCE - Is loaded with good games involving the top teams this week
Oh Canada vs. New Jersey - Clearly, the winner takes destiny in its own hands for the #1 overall seed. On the other side, the loser could easily drop into the #3 seed as the Anti-Mods hold the head-to-head over both teams.

The Anti-Mods at Saskatoon - Another important game for two teams with good win streaks at stake. With a win here, the Squad will move into the #2 spot over either New Jersey or Oh Canada (unless there is a tie in the above game). With a loss, they drop into the #4 spot. A win by Saskatoon moves them up a spot to the #3 overall spot, while a loss will keep them holding strong at #4.

Thunder Bay at Moose Jaw - At this point, the game is probably more important for Moose Jaw, who needs to probably win at least two of the last three just to have a shot at one of the final couple of playoff spots. With a game against the Anti-Mod Squad looming, a win here is almost a must. Thunder Bay can't move much this week. With a win, they will keep the #5 spot. With a loss, they should still stay at the #5 spot.

YellowKnife at South Jersey - Still another game where the winner gains a direct advantage over the other. Right now, the teams are fighting for the sixth or seventh playoff spot, but the Rice Riders, in particular, need to end their four game skid to just keep a playoff spot at all. Yellownife really can't do much with a win, but a loss could move them out of #6 and into the 8th spot. South Jersey, with a win, moves into the #6 spot, while a loss there may drop them out of the top 8 altogether.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
Willow Creek at Sherbrook - The Phantoms look to rebound from the surprising upset at the hands of the Moose in a game against the currently eighth seeded Colonels. With a win, they can hang onto the #2 overall seed and position themselves to have home field for the first two rounds of the playoffs. Hopefully not looking past this game to the streaking Yaks! With a loss, they may drop into the fourth spot, making next week's matchup with the Yaks all the more important for at least home field advantage in the first round. The Colonels, on the other hand, need to keep winning to stay in that # 8 spot. A loss coupled with a Roughnecks win will put the Cheeseburgers, Colonels, and Roughnecks into a three way tie (with one quality win each), making points scored the tie breaker (where Sherbrook currently stands third).

Medicine Hat at Prince Edward Island - The same thing is at stake for both teams: the winner stays in the hunt for the #2 overall seed, and the loser drops back into the #4 seed.

Moose Jaw at Edmonton - Riding their win streak and emotional win vs. the Phantoms, the Moose look to solidify themselves as the #6 seed with a win. A loss could move them down to the #8 seed due to their earlier loss to the Colonels. The Mice's playoff hopes are slim, and they have to win out to really have any shot. As losers in 5 of the last 6, can they topple the streaking Moose?

Paradise at Aspermont - The Roughnecks are currently on the outside looking in for the playoff picture. A win, however, and they take the head-to-head advantage against Paradise. Coupled with a Sherbrook win, all three teams have a quality win, and Aspermont could take the lead with a win by more than a field goal. The Cheeseburgers, however, could move up to the #6 spot with a win, or potentially fall down to 9th with a loss.
