grumble grumble grumble... ugh, should not have lost to Dryden...
can't believe that dropped us 8 spots...
Can someone explain why 4 loss teams are ranked ahead of us when we have 3 losses... against #1, #2, and #5 in OT, and we're the 2nd best team in arguably the 2nd toughest rookie league?

I'm not sure, might have something to do with the most recent losses or winning streak?
If you're referring to my team, I didn't even own the team when we had our first two losses.

The nature of elo - it would be a lot easier to explain if we had the ratings to look at, too.
Elo has a number of factors - your more recent results basically "count" more than results farther ago; just a side-effect of the way it's trying to fine tune your results to your expectations. And since you've got a tie, it's rather like 3.5 losses vs 4 losses, so it's a pretty close difference. I'm betting the ratings aren't that far apart - that's why you dropped 8 spots for a loss to a top team, the ratings are so close a small change is a big drop in rank.

Yesterday was busy. Games have already started. Teams will win. Others will lose. Maybe a tie.

who you beat and lose to is more important than how many you beat/lose to.

Haven't been any rookie teams ranked within 10 - won't be as long as Zorp keeps winning
Not sure how many wins it will take to get to the top 100 though
