im kinda bummed about the result, portland spanked them and i have beaten portland twice...oh well..i was aiming for top 50 at the end of the season and to be near top 25 is much more then i expected.

Tampa won 31-16
Deeproute won 27-24
Helmand won 28-21
Sacramento lost 14-21

Alpine won 35-25
Detroit tied 17-17
MoD won 42-18
Cooley-High lost 7-14

Gangsters lost 14-17
Rhode Island lost 10-17 - 4th time's a charm for the Pinks, I guess
Toast won 35-0
Canton lost 3-6

Very difficult to apply any meaning to the "that team beat that team" exercise in GLB2. Some teams fit, others don't

That's because we are competitive and I believe all 6 are coming back for next season.

at this rate i think we will have 6 in the top 25 by end of next season.

That is probably stretching it. 4 is not unrealistic though

Even 4 is pretty iffy. Remember there's only 3 more ladder games, and a few teams get playoff games. It's going to be hard to move too much, and getting wins over these high ladder teams is anything but guaranteed.

I would say this could be true but you don't lose or gain from playoff games do you in ladder? Wouldn't that make it sorta unfair due to an 'extra' games for those teams?

Can't remember if playoff games count. But why would it be unfair in an ELO rating?

My reading is in decline today, I've made several errors like that lately (first on GLB for the day so stop scouring posts looking for Nibor errors!)

Still...6 teams in top 25 at the same time seems like a stretch, although we may see 6 different teams get into the top 25 at some point or another...

Pretty sure playoff games counted last season. It's not particularly unfair - there's nothing too inherently unfair about playing more or less matches in an ELO rating system. Rating systems get tricky if you have huge discrepancies in games played, like we would see in GLB1 when counting ranked scrims and tournaments, but 1-2 games for the playoffs doesn't matter much. And it would be Quite Odd if the playoffs *didn't* count in ranking, since most people feel they are the most important games.

They don't give XP/SP, though. That *would* be unfair.

well i know this season i moved from above 100 to inside the top 25 for a moment...i could still potentially end in the top 25 so i do think its possible to get a large number of our teams near the top. i think the single most important thing we have going for us is an active forum base and people who are generally interested..though i will say..it would be interesting to see nibor take over one of the "lesser teams" in our league and see if he could turn them around.
