I don't think one artist dominating the charts is a great thing, but it adds to the culture of the society, of the times. It just seems like music is dead now, and the major of the people don't care enough to revive it.

You still haven't answered my question, where in the hell did you come up with this unbelievably bizarre notion that there is a perfect "structure" to a top 40 song? It has now morphed from "success - record sales and blowjobs" to creating utopia. Nickleback and linkin park are showing us the way to no war and no crime. You can't be fuckin' serious.

BTW, I couldn't tell you a single Nback or LP song, I'm sure I have heard one, but I don't know a single person with one of their albums, so I don't "hate" their music, I'm just dumbfounded by your notion of aesthetics. It's high comedy.

wait, you don't understand that there is a specific structure to top 40 pop songs? humans are creatures of habbit, and will be more likely to like something that they're already familiar with. it's why terrible experimental bands like yeasayer or animal collective still live with their parents, while nickelback drive lamborghinis.

there are thousands of bands out there trying to write the perfect rock songs that will sell like crazy, and nobody is doing it as well as nickelback. how can't you see that = talent?

i'm sure there are people out there that are better at their instruments then nickelback, but they sure as hell can't write hooks as catchy, or songs as rockin, else they'd be selling more albums.
