I've personally always been a fan of this idea but then you have the counter argument for owners that decide they don't have the time for the game any more - why should the players on the team be punished for that? It's a tough line to draw. We all hate gutted teams but there are often a number of varying factors that could cause a team to gut and they aren't all nefarious.

Maybe a special Support option to potentially bypass the rule, if you explain a certain circumstance which behooves you to cease owning the team.

What current issues in the sim are being acknowledged by bort and how does he plan on fixing them this offseason?

That's a tough one because there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to them. We're working on a new system for Bugs, so hopefully once I get that in place I'll be able to narrow down what is causing it and figure it out so we can fix it.

Many MMORPG have some kind of overall team ranking, and to actually see that you are the # 1 team in all of GLB would be sweet

Bort, DD and I actually had a discussion about having GLB sanctioned tournaments the other day, but it's only in it's infant stage of being talked about, but it's definitely something that we are considering and looking at.

As for ladders - not sure we'd do that,.

Needs to be optional imo. Depending on the time of the season, a player might not be able to get another team right away and would rather stay put and get XP till he can find another place to play.

Bort is always addressing sim issues, whether people choose to believe that or not. The main thing we've been working on is improvements in the passing game. You can always check the test server discussion threads in the Bugs Forum to see what is being talked about and tested.

I think everyone would agree 255-0 is the biggest problem in GLB right now. People are essentially paying for 16 games and any playoff/preseason games, and 255-0 games are unwatchable. In a very unbalanced league, it's not out of the ordinary to see AT LEAST half of the games end up as 255-0. Players in that league are only getting half of the value for their money as other players. I think it is the one biggest reason people get bored of this game and quit. Is there anything in the works to really solve this problem once and for all?

Team would then utilize some form of basic tactics to play out their season.

Owner would lose team immediately - all of the actual players would become free agents - and could find teams based on the rules of the season at that point.

Yeah... so with the "power rankings" teams can enter different tiers of tournaments each season. Thr tournamenets and the rankings could go hand in hand.

A lot of people (WL Owners included) that I've talked to have told me that the WL has taken a lot of the fun out of the game for them. It's taken away from the fun that the tournaments and rankings created. I was a fan of the WL at first (mainly because I thought my team could make it), but if you look at it, the sense of community has decreased somewhat since the WL came about.

Pabst actually has a semi-workable script to do this. He won't give it out, because of MASSIVE page views, but he's created it and the system makes somewhat reliable rankings. He ran it at the end of the season only, I think.

there's that, but also the fact that many teams from AAA on up are very good. Many of them can beat WL teams, so why not come up with a ranking?

it'll at least give people something to talk/gripe about more.

there has been suggestions of lolmods to be able to issue bans for posters in their particular forums instead of having a normal mod have to come in to do that, is this being considered?
