Besides, at this point, with refined builds and specific team concepts, probably not too out of the norm for top lower tier teams to beat up mediocre (or worse) jman or pro teams.

Except I'd say running was more powerful then than passing is today. At least with passing as it is now you can give a passing teams headaches if you're built to contain passing offenses. Granted you won't 100% stop them but you'll limit the damage. Running pre-pHB nerf was kind of ridiculous. You could be built to stop the run and still get destroyed by S* pHBs consistently. Imani Cross on Stunners was a pretty good example of that.

Imani Cross wasn't even a superstar either.

Teams right now have definitely focused their roster more on defending the pass, and are seeing better results.

Agreed. I think the game is seeing better balance now then in early season. Though run teams need some kind of slight buff, at least for early tiers.

The Virgins just averaged 15.9 yards per carry against the Sharks. They're currently ranked 19th. I'm betting they reset, and go back to beating up Rookie/Sophomore teams.

Not to mention the QB rollouts. Stunners used to lean more on rollouts against unsuspecting teams in upper tiers. GL QB Rollout vs Goal line D resulted in many TD's back in the day.

Well teams at later tiers like vet haven't experienced the full effects of the blocking changes so that's probably why you suggest just the earlier tiers. But I agree that run teams do need a slight buff.

It's been like 5 seasons or something, I think the full effects of the blocking changes have happened.

No they haven't, I remember MEM had a great deal of points into run/pass block tech/power before the changes and I'm sure other teams did as well.

Yeah MEM was into their seasoned campaign when the changes happened. Our best OL went from like 480 cakes as a sophomore to something like 180.

Thank god. Started getting nervous when this happened. Flashbacks to our previous match-up are brutal.
