So AFTER arguing with Verizon for 30 minutes that yes I am actually {my real name} and yes I am surprisingly on the account (like I have service from no one and pay no one) and yes I do have the free upgrade, and yes I do have a $100 credit for a trade in (they literally argued all of that, being wrong each time), they reset my phone to switch me over then say "Oh your bill isnt paid. We cant do it. Heres your nearly inoperable phone which is now only capable of placing calls to 911 and ICE contacts like it worked well before we reset it."

Seriously, does anyone else have this shit happen to them this often?

Already sent them the e-receipt from the bill we paid, filed a complaint with the general manager, and left them a shitty review on their website like those last 2 things even matter.

Very true. I've tried to get in the habit of using them more, I was resisting them when they were first taught

I never thought anything would make me long for organic chem, that seems simple compared to this stuff.

duuuuuuude, stop resisting when your profs show you things like that. stop thinking that they don't know what they're talking about when it comes to ways to solve problems and you know better what works for you. I know I'm making a big assumption there, but I know that's exactly how I used to think when I was on that side of the desk. now that I'm on the other side, I wish I had a dollar for every time I said to a class or a student 'trust me, if you use this technique and get used to using it all the time, you will be doing yourself a favor', then they don't trust me, don't use that technique, and continue to struggle, but then do try it my way, then say 'wow, yeah, that is easier, I wish I'd done that from the beginning.'
sorry for the seeming rant, but I've seen this play out time and again.

Hot damn that was quick. Already got a call from the salesguy saying he made a mistake and surprise they were wrong again, nothing is past due. Got an email from the sales GM apologizing and giving me $10 in credit.

I love winning

I am a 20something college kid, my phone is an extension of my very self. Email, texts, calls, facebook are all used to communicate essential info and need to be ready at all times.

Also, you know, angry birds n shit for when I'm bored

So, I think we have a couple medical students here?

For the past 2-3 weeks, I've had a pain in one of my heels. Only happens when I bend my foot up towards my knee, feels like my Achilles tendon is tearing where it connects at the bottom. Only really starts hurting when I walk up the hill down the street from my house, or walk up the steep driveway. If I walk awkwardly with my foot forced downward, it's fine.

The spot where it feels like it's tearing is also like...numb to the touch just sitting here. Lack of feeling I'd guess circulation, but only localized to a small part of my foot, maybe not?

Not a medical student, but it sounds like achilles tendonitis. I had it and it takes months to heal. Does it bother you in the mornings?

Yeah, that's what I was leaning towards.

I mean, it's not debilitating or anything, just whenever I happen to overextend it with walking up a hill or something, get some soreness that fades after a little bit.

It seemed to take like a year for mine to really get better. Every time it felt like it was getting better, it would get worse again. I quit playing pickup basketball because I felt like I was always on the verge of blowing it out.

Yeah sounds like tendonitis. Not a ton you can do for it. Use it as little as possible in both overall volume and stress i.e. dont go playing basketball a ton. Ice/heat it as you feel necessary, may decrease swelling a little but it's mostly for pain. Same with occasional NSAIDs if you feel you need them. It's the common cold of sports injuries, just gotta wait it out.

Edit: Also not a medical student yet, but I have an interest in mechanical sports injuries and infectious diseases, tendonitis is a familiarity of mine

I had tendonitis in my elbow. I went to Walmart and bought the band they had, which wrapped around my arm, just above the elbow. It had a little inflated rubber pad in it that put pressure on the tendon. It helped exponentially in healing it. Maybe they have something like that for the foot? Def worth checking out.
