My favorite is "it's a good school because it makes it easy to graduate"

Is this level of education specific to that school, or is it countrywide?

It's not as rampant in other schools but you will find that country wide. It's horrible. God forbid you aren't PC and tell a kid he's a lazy shit and needs to repeat a grade.

Acid-Base equilibria chem,

when in doubt, start with an ICE table. also just continually remind yourself: products over reactants.

Products/Reactants has saved me so many times by giving me a place to start or an objective to get to.

ICE tables make me wanna punt a baby when you have anything worse than A+B<->C

Edit: Kinda surprised ICE tables are apparently more universal. I thought that was just something my chem teacher was pulling up as a template type of thing

with MANY chemistry topics, if you bring yourself back to the fundamentals, in this case products/reactants, it accomplishes precisely what you just said, gives you either a starting point or gives you a direction to shoot in

god no, ICE tables are THE way to do equilibrium problems in general. largely, they do what I talked about above, at least give you a starting point if you're stuck. even if you don't end up 'using' it, it makes for a convenient way to display the information

By the time you crack open the first beer, you will have already forgotten the information you crammed for those tests.
