And Rob and I are not the same person. I don't know why people seem to think that.

I think he meant me and rob

and yeah not really fair to hold anyone to robs level, i would say there is 3-4 DCs far and away better than anyone else around right now and FF is def one of those guys, but rob has to be #1.

Using actual numbers from Stobie's tool the best dcs the last few seasons would be rob, me, whoever runs whoville's defense, whoever runs Kentucky mountaineers, and dreg in no particular order.

Total D Yards is skewed by Offensive play calling. Are you adjusting for that?

Each team's profile page shows avg yards per rush & pass. Those are better numbers.

I used total yards allowed, total points allowed, ypp (yards per play) I even threw in comp% into the mix. Those 5 were consistantly top 5 in multiple categories multiple seasons.

Not sure if that's better, but here are some numbers.

4.Doinitin Djibouti 4
5.Central Falcons 4.17
6.Hostile Takeover 4.36
7.Whoville Whos 4.48
8.Djibouti Assassins 4.73
9.Madison Bulldogs 4.91
10.Green Bay Packers 5.41

Season 13

Bronx: 3.98 YPC, 5.29 YPA
MEM: 4 YPC, 5.94 YPA
Central: 4.17 YPC, 5 YPA
LogZilla: 3.7 YPC, 5.46 YPA
Whoville: 4.48 YPC, 4.77 YPA
GA: 3.1 YPC, 5.29 YPA - best stats, but note that they only played against 8 top 10 teams the whole season due to how low ranked they were.
DA: 4.73 YPC, 4.88 YPA
Madison: 4.91 YPC, 4.58 YPA
DD: 4.00 YPC, 5.94 YPA

In short (and ignoring GA's cellar dweller stats, because they were facing a ton of inactive teams in S13)

Madison has by far the best pass D - and the worst run D.
LogZilla has by far the best run D - but a pretty poor pass D
Bronx, MEM, DD all had pretty good run Ds... but all had mediocre pass Ds (in regards to MEM, and DD, beyond mediocre - although DD's stats don't include the fact that they cause a lot more turnovers - which is significant).

It also shows how big some of the splits are. Pretty interesting actually.

So which team is the best defensively? Hard to say. If I'm trying to pick one of these splits to go with I probably go with LogZilla or Central.

I have MeM at 3.6 and 4.8 with a 45% comp rate against them. (the little team info thing in the middle doesnt include playoffs. even then it shows 3.33 and 5.4 for MeM

DD will pretty much always be towards the bottom in pass defense, it's just really hit or miss. I can give up 15 completions in a row and turn around and intercept 3 straight passes, or vice versa.

Just to add this to the convo.

DD finished with a +64 TO differential, the next closest team was DA at +29.
