I see the trend....Man Unders and strong side blitzes don't call, Man base and weak side Blitzes fire away.

no competent defensive coordinator will call that shit against a team they know runs pro set sweep.

Besides 4-3 man base these are not things you regularly see versus any team that can run the ball with any relevance. 5-2 maybe only because the team runs up the middle a lot but still not a very good play call.

Yeah, looks they call those generic Man Unders.

I'm not at all against buffing the run at lower 2 levels.

I'm comparing rookie numbers from season 8 in comparison to season 11. They look similar.

Trips HB pitch weak:
Season 8 0.74 ypc
Season 11 1.03 ypc

Proset HB sweep:
Season 8 4.96 ypc
Season 11 4.27 ypc

SI Sweep:
Season 8 4.61 ypc
Season 11 4.39 ypc

Numbers are slightly down, some of it may be because DCs are more experienced.

Currently where the outside door is closed against Man Unders the inside door is a bit more open.

HB dive strong
4-3 Cover 2 Man Under 3.66 ypc
3-4 Sky Man Under 4.13 ypc
3-4 Cover 2 Man Under 3.92 ypc

These are not eye popping numbers but they are more successful plays against Unders in my eyes factoring in no TFLs.

3-4 sky man is something I won't see all season.

looking at these general numbers is an issue because again, now you're including a bunch of lazy offensive coordinators who will call the shit against anything. Like, trips HB pitch weak is a super conditional play that you should only really call against defenses with less than 3 CBs and a strongside blitz. Shallow Sam, 5-2 CB2R, 4-3 Strong Overload, that kind of shit. Hell even 5-2 CB2R, in season 8 that play gave up 11.5 ypc to trips HB pitch weak. S11 only 6 ypc. You know what I mean?

I know what you mean. Not really enough data to get a good make on 5-2 CB2R though. That play is probably overpowered by Pro.

This is really what gets me. WRs manhandling LBs. WRs with 40+ pancakes. When I hear rushing needs a buff this is the kind of stuff that comes to mind. If they could boost it only at the lowest tiers I would be all for it.

I think our offense is still a season away from being legitimately dangerous. Our power back is going to have 100 balance before he hits 100 power running which might be a mistake in hindsight

Just make sure he has high grip and Brace For Impact.

There is nothing wrong with building a strong, blocking WR...

Kayoh knows more about building successful all run teams than you. Don't think he's going to take much advice from you.

Those WRs have 79 run block tech and 55 power. The LB in question has a cake:revcake ratio of basically 1:2. His ratio was actually 1:1 in the game against us. I'd literally be willing to put money on that LB having little to no investment in BRB and/or HG because Hub has 3 LBs with 50 BRB and they fucking NEVER get pancaked, EVER.

he doesn't fumble often enough to warrant brace for impact, his current grip is 66.

Agreed. Thing is, it should be a trade off. Those strong, blocking WRs should have to try to catch a pass once or twice a game. Right now, it's not a decision at all - it's just we never pass so there is no down side to 100% blocking skills and, as a kicker, I have a better kick/punt return game to boot.

I have an LB with 69 BRB, 40 HG, 50 Balance and Gold Shed Block and he was pancaked 19 times last season (Vet). Only once this season, but that's because he is playing under a better DC that is using the build in pass coverage as intended.

He had those same skills in Pro and probably the tier before as I pumped those early (except for Balance), and he also got pancaked plenty, especially considering the O builds theoretically weren't as good blockers as they are in Vet.

Rev pancakes is all about balance.

you say really fucking stupid shit sometimes. Hub's 3 run defense LBs have 50 BRB but none of them have more than like 45 balance and between the three of them they've been pancaked a grand total of 6 times this season.

As a matter of fact, our best run stuffing LB, Calvin Snodgrass, has 40 revcakes this season, only been pancaked twice, and he has 35 balance.
