SSM did beat Mojo in week 1 though, and ended with a better overall record than the #9 in alpha. You could argue this over and over, Bort should just make them play eachother and the winner stays.

What I would actually like to see for the future is a system where you also have playoffs for who demotes. Same way as the top8, the bottom 8 gets seeded and play eachother and the top 2 in each conference get to stay (would need to change promotion rules or possibly merge some pro regions, which is probably overdue anyway). It would add excitement for the teams 9th-16th and give them a chance to still stay up and it would also make teams less likely to get screwed over by one conference being more tough than the other.

I know this is way different compared to any real football, but so is the whole promotion/demotions system in the first place.

It's all about who has the newest dots.

God knows coordinators don't make a difference, especially coordinators that have rings, I wouldn't worry about those teams at all, they're a bunch of hasbeen's and probably wont bother anyone.

Also those teams that got rings got lucky, they certainly dont have networks setup and the ability to select whichever dots suit the sim season after season.

So yeah, Mike's a fucking retard for giving any weight what so ever to those teams.

I'm just saying the statement has logical fallacies. Even a man of integrity like jd would follow that.


But looking at the original statement- we're saying that because one team in alpha came out on top of their heap and then won a single game against a zeta team, clearly all alpha teams are greater than zeta teams- regardless of whether the top team in each conference had an easier or harder time making it up top? And whether a team gets simmed or not in the single game...

If you want to do this comparison correctly, you would need to compare the post-season eliminated team scrimms to look at who wins, but then you have bias error, because if you aren't going for a trofee gif anymore, you have zero cares.

So, you are stuck using a single game to determine the worth of the rest of the league.

So you are basically saying what I've said. You are basing the leagues off past expectations and not on this seasons sim or play of the teams.

I mean that's a great preseason argument but really holds no meaning after week 16.
