this for sure. Dallas would have been in CPL this past season if they weren't in a pitifully weak Zeta the season before. Good team as level 72s though for sure.

We needed every break we could get at lvl 70. When we first saw the conferences, that's when we first figured we would at least have a slight chance.

this is true. we got lucky, but we also beat some staple teams. ESL, Hali come to mind. The ESL game was 34-33 WOAH

Congrats. I remember my first season in WL with Dakar we beat Blaze and HHW to finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs, ugh. The hand of Bort kept us afloat though.

The first time we remained loyal to the agents and dots that got us to WL even though we had access to better dots. I do not regret doing that, but we learned just how hard it is to compete at the highest level with very good but not elite dots. Since then we have re-evaluated our farm system, done some culling of good but not great builds, and are actively recruiting to ensure that we have the best available dots.

We will be better this time. I am not going to predict how much better. It might only be a game or two better, we might make the playoffs, we might actually make some noise. I don't know, because I don't know how much better everyone else will be as well.

We're doing this same thing, retaining almost everyone except maybe a handful of dots which are my own dots to be replaced by better ones. Don't want chemistry to hurt the team next season.

21 of the dots on my team will just be 439 days old at the start of next season so just need to replace a few of them oldies so we can compete at this level.

I think there are a few teams coming up here that have more younger dots than my team.

this is my thinking. when DCs cared/needed wins down that home stretch the team started to struggle.

anyways .. while obviously dot quality is important on the promotes i still believe it's more of the grind of coordinating that teams struggle to make the jump on. it's different in WL - things that worked for you in Pro isn't directly workable here. you develop bad habits or maybe leaned slightly on your better dots just making those 2 plays a game ...

you don't need the highest eff level to win up here - though it helps and makes things a lot easier. you can make up the difference elsewhere.

you'll hit the wall in the playoffs obviously, but really the promotes should just focus on sticking that first season. then things start falling into place.
