Come playoff time, I think the boosted teams will have an advantage over the Horde

I don't disagree that he'll struggle come playoffs, but if BORT sees teams dropping to silver and winning 14+ games, he's going to be less likely to let gold teams drop. I'm not necessarily sure that is the same definition of non-competitive as Bort, Catch, and the admins have. Their original point when disallowing teams to drop from gold was they didn't want good teams dropping down so they could beat up on bad teams rather than win 8-10 teams in gold.

I know it wasn't brogrim's intent (and he's a good dude, I really like the guy), but BORT's view of non-competitive is likely different. It took quite a bit to get BORT to change his mind on this, so now I guess I'm afraid that the next time a team says they'll be non-competitive (meaning pretty much CPU), they won't be allowed to demote.

I didn't know you could drop to Silver from Gold...I would have kept my team. I didn't want to ruin Gold by going CPU. Just blew 8 seasons of Peewee because Bort and crew can't stick to their rules!

When my 1st child is born this November, I will likely have to take 1-2 seasons off. But rather than CPU my team or let it get beat up on a weakly basis so I am demoted, I plan on keeping my team and making it good enough to not be demoted, but with minimal maintenance. I will create all my own players, but won't boost or CEQ, and will just setup all my AI's for auto-pilot. Only maintenance besides on players would be some defensive tags and I can do those several games in advance, so would really only need about an hour or two a week for that.

Unless a really good group of Silver gets promoted, this plan would likely keep me just above the demoted level and would allow me to return to Gold after a season or two off.

Something else I could do is boost only my starters for Week #1, which would all but guarantee me enough wins early in the season to avoid demotion.


What I am saying is that there are ways to keep your own team in Gold if your only objective is not to be demoted.

Let me just say this and I'll be done posting in the GG forum. It was either take my $4.00 (400 Flex) and drop me to Silver or don't take my money and have me go CPU. Either way, I am a paying customer so why should I not get what I want (within reason)?

However, seeing how some of the new teams coming up are doing, I should have just stayed. Not that I'm hot shit or anything. LOL

No kidding...I should have just stayed also! But I didn't want to take anything away from the teams in Gold and disrespect them with putting a non competitive team on the field. I really didn't push the issue with support, as I just assumed they wouldn't let me do it. No big deal though...NOPW will be back one day.

Gerr, I totally agree with you, there are ways to keep the team, but I did have 3 other reasons to take a break...my kids. Congrats on your 1st child...they will change your life!

No Fear if your team is still CPU then you might be able to get it back
