Option A: Ignore the boasting and read other threads

You, however, chose Option C: Stalk the guy, whip out personal insults, and make a weak attempt to make him physically intimidated while you try to maintain plausible deniability. Afterwards, you laughingly claim that you aren't angry at all and that you really are looking after him. Stop insulting our intelligence.
Going with Option A or Option B would probably be a better choice.
