Even better would be someone making a static playbook, and everyone having to use that playbook and build their team and tactics around it etc.

no surprise there I think. For those with experience:

Spam ZEB / Shallows / OWMB1

Spam Big I TE Cross / hooks / and 3-4 others

Build fast blitzers
Build TEs who can catch

Blow out newbs.

that is the whole reason why I did the challenge. I went into it with these in mind. CPU challenge or not, that is a good key to winning in rookie

I suspect this CPU Challenge was a cunning attempt by TxSteve to highlight how easy it is to succeed in rookie against teams that's don't know what they're doing. I could be wrong. Regardless, it certainty has shown that rookie is easily exploitable even without a full squad of human owned players.

I actually love this idea. Create a league where those rules are enforced and I'm definitely in.

I would have been one of those newbie owners. Mult saved me, But because of mult, I care about rookie now. I would have never ever built a rookie only team.

I think I wrote that somewhere else...but don't remember where. I agree that would be fun against the other CPU teams....but potentially gives the human teams a large advantage since there would now be no game planning (yes - I agree - there are many minimal game planning games already).

Isn't that what the game is for top teams anyway?

The CPU challenge shows that rookie can be exposed. Let's have an outside of the top 10 play challenge! Basically we use Stobie's scout stats to see what top 10 passing plays, running plays and defensive play calls are within whatever tier your team is entering and weed those out. They cannot be used under any circumstance. I am thinking about doing this and riding a team through vet.

The idea was to not just have the playbook full of the best plays.

That would just be dumb.

Reported your account for saying the word dumb! Wait until support gets a hold of you! LOL

Anyway, I am planning to fire up a second team in S15 that is not allowed to use the top 10 plays called in the following categories: pass, run, run defense and pass defense

Maybe just make a specific league that will not allow these plays? You could simply have a created playbook apply for league use and gain a tag after the server shows that the playbook does not have whatever plays are outlawed or something. Would make the game "fresh" again for many since we are all spamming the same plays and all.

Why not just use only the preset playbooks and tactics, then have teams build around those?

Isn't that the point though? see who builds better dots and at what positions?

Hmm, what about a requirement that the human owned players can't be at positions where the current playbook norm is best. Would encourage other plays to be experimented with in Rookie?

Like no human owned players at WR3?
