Obviously if those teams could still play - the Stunners would win 99 times out of 100

Don't worry, some day a hot girl will realize you make more $ than the jocks she's used to hanging out with and will realize that if she touches you, all your money will magically be spent on her.

I'm not really sure which thread this would fit best, but I know lob passes have been brought up a lot about them not happening enough. I'm not for sure my QB on DD has ever thrown one...until today.

This really needs to happen more often, that would force teams out of the Man Base coverages to protect over the top. As it stands right now, you want your CB trailing because it's much easier to deflect a pass while trailing than it is if you are right on the WR.

The way you calculate lob passes is an operation on power. The higher your power is the longer out you have to throw to get a lob. 40 power is right around 15-20 yards. It's why AA and Stoners both have QB's with <=50 power

It's been a while since I've seen his build, but I'm pretty sure Saul Silver has at least has 50 pass power. For the record, the QB in the link above has exactly 50 pass power.

He has 38. Slightly more ints but a LOT more lobbed passes.

Interesting, early bloomer on a QB.

Anyways, the QB on my team lobs a ton of passes, his power is I think 25. I really do wonder if higher power would help prevent contested passes though. Feels like corners can recover a bit easier to disrupt the pass.

The higher power does make it easier to catch on longer throws but when you do a bucket throw if your WR's dont jump or do stupid shit they have a chance to go to the house with it.

EDIT : http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/150423/407580

If that was a bullet pass then the CB is close enough to deflect the ball or tackle him.

I wouldn't call that an over the shoulder drop it in the bucket type of throw. These I'd call bucket throws, the WR is running under it through the catch, never has to turn towards the ball:

A few examples from this season:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/151126/1442109
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/157513/1188245 (almost perfect)
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/151101/606962
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/151101/606873 (he had to dive for it, but the concept applies of leading the receiver via lob)
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/154927/530337 (close to being in stride, but corner would need like 100 vert to bat that lob down)

This one from last season is the textbook example of what you're talking about. Went back to it simply because I remembered (and it was absolutely clutch)

Ah, that makes sense. If you want long catch and runs, you'd need more speed on receivers for every point put into passing power.

Except at 35 power, 100 speed WR's aren't outrunning the ball. I would actually argue the inverse- The less speed your WR's have the more power your QB needs.
