I'm aware of this. It's why my team is designed the way it is.

The guys on the test server have stated before though, you need someone built in your secondary to cover these guys. Doesn't have to be all your CBs necessarily.

If you're losing to a S* WR built for speed, and trying to cover them with regular CBs not totally sold out to defend such WRs, I don't know what to tell you. You should lose that matchup most of the time.

balance is necessary for CBs? I barely touch balance with my guys, and they seem to be just fine

Well...until Corndog nerfed outside runs into oblivion you needed it...

so why is that okay but not okay to lose the matchup when it was going up against pure rushing teams??

Change to defensive minds must be why we're seeing more running backs running out of bounds this season too, since the defender is going to cut them off if they keep moving straight, they try to go outside more and end up going out of bounds.

Is anyone else thinking, "yeah, I'm totally up for going to get some post-nerf pancakes!"?

There's things I don't like about how the running game works now. Such as when WRs run a few steps before turning to block on plays that don't cause the CB to do pass defense before requiring an awareness check to read run. Giving CBs and LBs an auto-read when the QB is tucking and running on rollouts is fine, but you need to alter the offensive plays to have WRs/Oline/and FB/HB be able to deal with stuff better too. The WR run-off is painful. Olineman pulling come hell or high water through their original gap probably needs to be worked on too. If FB/HB lead blockers are scripted on thier lead block paths a long ways, they probably need to be freed up sooner. These are all things corndog's mentioned needing to look at.

Meh. After they replaced the real maple syrup with the fake stuff, it was hardly worth planning a breakfast around them.

When someone argues that it isn't ok to lose to a pure rushing team we will let you know.

people did argue that having to build a defense completely around rushing teams was unfair, that is what the statement was in regards too

No team was ever built to purely stop the run, if anyone's telling you that, they're lying.

The fact that no team ever tried, and we go and nerf running before we get a chance to see what happens when CBs get those break block/hold ground skills later on. The sim could have actually been balanced, but we'll never know now.

I liked the earlier days of this where the answers were always 'oh well you haven't built fully to prove that yet' so we can't change anything. I wish the game would have stayed with that excuse for as long as possible until we actually knew what was overpowered and not.

No they said they shouldn't have to build around one play.

Um. Yorick had been building run stopping CB's from day one because Yorick's GM decided day one you can't really stop WR's from catching passes at anything close to reliable levels, but you can shut down running and then gameplan to force said passing teams to make a 8-12 plays per drive without mistakes to score.

Darkside had good ability to stop Tampa. We built for it I kept using that as an example. But people kept saying "But look at the average QB roll out run WITH planning." My CB has 36 break run block -- entirely due to Tampa.
