I love the new structure. I (and kjoe) simply hate the fact that the league we started in ended up folding and we got dropped into a division with 3 of the 4 truly competitive teams in the league (Banger from the Beta Division is the only team to beat a team from Gamma all season). We'll just have to deal with it, though.

As the guy coming from Hawk and Grizzly's top divisions last season I feel your pain. But it is a good pain imo.

As uncompetitive teams fold I hope all the divisions pick up more of a competitive nature. Until we get there it would be great to have a way to spread the top teams in a league through the different division because, as it stands, two teams who actually stand a chance in the playoffs don't have a chance to get there (I say this knowing that one of the five "top" teams in the league would be on the outside looking in no matter what).

It's not hate when someone tell you a dumb idea is dumb.

if their were no divisions then yeah top 4 records would go to the offs, but the fact that there are divisions makes your way senseless.

That really takes people out of the game though. As it currently is you can fight for a division and then fight for a wild card spot. If you are 3rd in your own division it really shouldn't be up for debate. You had 2 chances against both of those opponents and didn't come out on top. I really like this set up because it allows people to pick up steam late season and do something with it. Especially as we get later into the stages of building and up to vet and things like chemistry really start playing into wins and losses.

If you don't believe this is true than you are wrong. Especially when the divisions play eachother

SOS man. It is a real thing that is dealt with in all sports.

I like the setup. In Hawk MEM missed playoffs last season because we started slow and had a really good team in our division. This season we put more effort in and practically clinched playoffs today. Competition breeds excellence.

Since one of the two teams I DC for is in Doinitin Djibouti 2.0's division, and since the gamma division in our league has no teams with a winning record, I'm inclined to agree with you

Win their division.

You may as well go one step further and claim that playoffs go by ladder ranking.

which is great, but you don't lose that competition by making it the best 4 teams and not the top 3 in the division and one wildcard. This would in fact bread more competition. Also, you most likely wouldn't notice a difference because the divisions with stacked competition should still have it harder than the easy ones. My biggest complaint is when the number 1 team in one division has a worse record than the number 4 team in another division. (What the hell have they done to make the playoffs but get lucky?)

This doesn't promote competition or help make the game more even, all it does is say you can have the worst division, still barley try and win almost no games and still have a worse record than anyone else outside your division. =\... The NFL is trying to figure out a way to fix this because its currently broken in its system. Why would we want to follow a broken model? Just because its something you are used to does not make it correct. I like the divisional breakout but I just think top 4 teams should get in. If you have an easier division you should have more wins and it shouldn't be an issue =\

Well why even have divisions then? You're making divisions null and void by having top 4 make it in. If you're going to do that then just make one conference for the whole league.
