There are times when boosting now will mean that you will be able to cap an attribute. There are times when training over the cap instead of waiting to boost and spending that time training under the cap is to your advantage.

I have boosted some of my players in order to capitalize on those training gains (the extra SP doesn't hurt).

What he said. Simple explanation, each player is different. If you have a plan, stick to the plan. I prefer to wait till Day 1 for some, later for others.

Understood. Had I not sent a few players to retire, I would be there with you.

My flex has appeared. I'm happy.

My issue was jp had made it out in one of his previous posts that anyone that waits until the playoffs will be world beaters. That one extra point in an attribute is not going to make those teams any better than they would have been had they boosted during the preseason or start of the regular season. If your top four attributes are so underdeveloped at this stage that holding off on boosting is going to really make a difference then one must have really fucked up their build.

I think it's much ado about nothing.

BTW...it's obvious passing is still horrible at this level.

You haven't had any scrims. Trust me, passing is still terrible.

You have to understand what I'm saying...

If you boost now, that's what you've got for the season.

If you wait to boost for the playoffs and actually make the playoffs, you're going to be better off than the teams that boosted early.

The fact remains if a team that boosted and had a 15 SP advantage on a team during the season and couldn't beat out a team that waited to boost till the playoffs, the teams are now on equal SP ground and the teams that waited will probably be the better team.

You are correct in saying that 9 points may only be one attribute points, but as far as the Chiefs are concerned... none of our attributes are over 81 are getting SP and most aren't even going to 81. Hence the training gains.

meh

You can't base what happens in the regular season with what will happen in the playoffs regardless of when people boost. I rarely game plan beyond slapping a tag on a player during the regular season. Also have to take chem into account.

Those are much bigger factors than a team boosting for the playoffs imo.

I'm just saying as an example the Chiefs face off with an old rival Massive Dynamic in week one, but last season with dots at the same level we beat them 45-0. If they boosted before our game, how many points do those 18 Skill Points actually make up for them?

So it's not just about training gains and chemistry, it's also about matchups and not screwing up your end build. When we play against Team Still In Beta and they boosted, maybe I need to be concerned with boost my HB or QB for the game. Maybe more?

Maybe... just maybe... I'm boosting Day 0

Isn't Massive Dynamic that multi team I've heard about?

Not sure on that one, I think you're thinking of the Monster 2012 team that folded out of the playoffs last season. Almost everyone of their users logged in within minutes of each other. Pretty obvious multi, but no one reported it so I guess they'll live another day.

Could be, I wasn't in a league with either team so I might have got them confused.

I stopped adding SP to any of my attributes for most of my dots at 77; so 9 SP is worth more than 1 point to me. I don't know exactly what Todd is doing, but from what we talked about he's on the same path.
