That's what I'm saying. Arguably our best roster ever, a defense that has always worked, and suddenly we give up the most points we ever have. The amount of huge scores this season makes me wonder if morale was tweaked again.

yup, it can't be something you guys are doing on your end, it must be the sim fucking you over somehow.

18 of 32 offenses failed to score 30+ pts yesterday. I dont really think there really are "huge scores" all around.

If my team was the only one giving up huge point totals I'd be more inclined to accept your explanation. As noted, I haven't updated the defense significant since last season, so I expect to get abused by the new plays, but I was thinking this even before EEA took a dump on my head.

Morale has always been a domino effect. When it gets rolling, look out. In any case, scores are up over 20% from last season in the WL. We'll see if that continues or was just a blip.

It was tweaked with the Big Heart nerf. You you donīt turn into superstar anymore when trailing so you get the domino effects of scoring and losing morale piling up

I think it has more to do with the power of the running game. Running the ball for 200 yards definitely seems to have a much bigger impact on a game than passing for 500+. Probably due to the missed tackles for the most part.

many of the counter plays seem to be low risk/high reward. at least with sweeps/pitches if they were stuffed it's a measurable TFL. you don't see that on the counters - they almost always get something and have the potential to bust a huge one. all against the same D scheme.

if the O is allowed to use set misdirection plays it's logical the D is allowed to set/define containment responsibility.

That is why when Rage was posting about a lot of zones sucking because the defender usually takes the first guy to come into his zone which is usually like a WR and becomes non existent for the actual reason you wanted him in that zone, I had brought up that maybe they need to create man zones where you create the zone and then have a box regarding the only time you leave that zone is if for example WR1, WR3 pass through it. If WR2, TE, or HB pass through, you let them go. That way one of the WR's aren't breaking your containment by running you right out of the play.

I don't think so, in terms of risk/reward.
I think the biggest difference with the new plays is that defense's can't stack the lbrs and a safety to one side to stop specific plays, IE weak I HB runs.
Against Weak I, if you shift the lbrs to the weak side, with the FS, and play the SS or LOLB inside the tackle to the strong side, you're going to give up big plays to the strong side. Which, is probably how it should have always been.
Thew new plays give the offense the ability to counter some of the formations that heavily weighed to one side or the other. And/or the 6 plays that worked without fail.

Hmmm, all good points.
The playbook expanded to allow hitting all areas within most formations and defenses are adjusting - I don't expect the offense to be ahead of the D for long...
As long as defenses keep stretching laterally to contain the wide game the power game will continue to shine. Bring back the I Slam days
