not a chance. there was one season (maybe s13?) where Alpha was so terrible outside the top 3-5 teams (Lincoln/Hali/MEM, and then Marblehead/Mayan I think). I want to say Singapore Flames or someone were just awful and still made the playoffs. Could have been another team just as bad that season from Alpha.

Is there any way BDC misses the playoffs if they lose their last 2 games?

I'm trying to figure out the tiebreakers right now if we do something crazy and lose to the winless team.

No - only 8 teams at most can get to 9 wins in Alpha, which means both Osaka and BDC are clinched.

Zeta update:

Zeta is a lot simpler as far as in/out right now.
Only 8 teams can get to 9 wins, so 9 wins is a lock.
Arcade has games left vs Saigon and Bloodweiser, and I expect them to win at least 1 of those. This leaves just 1 spot left for the remaining teams.

Cagliari and CRR play week 15 and the winner controls their own destiny, but they both have a tough game vs a playoff team in week 16. If the winner then drops their week 16 game, the door opens for BBM or Saigon to get to 8-8 and look at tiebreakers. BBM has two tems already out of the playoffs left, but Saigon has Arcade and Odessa.

I think we'll see a tie at 8-8 but I have no idea what teams we'll see in it. BBM and the winner of CRR/Cagliari seems like the most obvious, with all 3 as a possibility as well. BBM has H2H over Cagliari but not CRR. CRR has to feel good about their chances if the win week 15, although the Whores have H2H over CRR, and if Arcade drops both games the tiebreakers could get even more complicated. If Arcade and CRR win tomorrow, though, I think they clinch together.

Zeta update:

No one cares.

I'm expecting a few teams to take some desperate measures to try and make it into the playoffs... It's gonna be fun to see the box scores the next two weeks.

Yo, dpryde, guess that means you have to look at our ugly faces for another season. Sorry, dude. Hope the Hedgehogs can make it back up so you can play your two favorite teams next season.
