The Run'n'Shoot offense was a similar idea, and as I recall took a little bit of getting used to by defenses before it was run out of the league.
Speaking of the Run'n'Shoot - one of the weaknesses was the inability to shorten the game with a lead.
After the long TD to open the 2nd half, Arcade was up 62-38. Couldn't close the deal, though - similar to the Houston Oilers playoff collapse against the Bills, where at 35-3 the Oilers ran 22 pass plays and 4 rushing plays, couldn't control the ball or the clock, and created the most epic playoff failure in NFL history. Yes, yes I am bitter about it.
Is the passing game in the sim perfect? By no means. All the standard problems exist - WRs can't get open except with pure speed, WRs built for speed can catch almost anything (in heavy coverage) by having a huge AEQ/VA stack going, but WRs built for possession can't catch noticeably more passes, or use AEQ/VA to stack up speed or something else to create separation, the pass rush is still wonky, pass defenses seem to need to be set to all-or-nothing approaches to go for INTs because anything more conservative still just lets the O march down the field, etc etc.
But even if the passing game was balanced how people think it should be - games like this one will STILL exist. This isn't a passing game imbalance issue.
If you want to prevent these sorts of games, you have to change something else. I think for starters you'd have to fix the play clock, cut about 30 plays per team off the top of this game, and cut the score down to a mindboggling 85-73 or so.
Now, I'm not a gameplanner - someone tell me what your best options are in GLB right now if a team is going to 100% pass. Are the tools there to cope with that if you *know* you aren't going to be defending the run? I'm not really even a real life football geek, so I dunno what you'd do in real life, either.
And of course...did Alpine do those things? Or did they have to keep their D honest to the run in some ways?
.... one more thing to add. Alpine scored 121 points by running the ball more than throwing it. That is cause for concern as well.

It's because we played what in the real world was a 6 he game, and both kickoff teams were so gassed they couldn't play defense.

After seeing our summary and everyone who played was between 10-45 energy, I assume your was the same?

I have seen the comparisons to Texas Tech and Houston Oilers run n shoot
They are not very good comparisons though....
NBA Jam Arcade does what it does because of energy and having 10 WRs vs 5 CBs.Eventually every team will get gassed but since NBA Jam has more WRs they will have just a bit more energy and will stay more effective
They are going to beat some good teams this season

Again. It does help with the energy but Jam's offense was worse down the stretch when theoretically it should've been better. They punted 5 times in the last 25 minutes where they didn't punt at all in the first 35

I'm just pointing out that GLB is going to disappear in about 6 months if this is what it comes to, so I guess by revolutionizing you mean destroying. But that's fine. The people that come to this game are looking for something simulating actual football. And actual football teams both run and pass the ball. Even the most pass happy teams in NCAA football run the ball 30% of the time.
But yes, my dots are a joke. My 1 lonely dot who has been being slow built for 8 seasons. His feelings are hurt that an internet tough guy doesn't like him.
GLB needs ot have some semblance of reality or it will disappear from a lack of interest. Plain and simple.

So people want realism? How do you market realism when you charge someone to build an olineman? How Many times do NFL tes get cakes? In glb the best get 10+ per game, in glb we have twice the plays as the NFL, so would speeding up the games and the amount of time that comes off the clock make this more fun? I just don't agree, people build their dots to be the best and dominate.

I tend to agree with him actually
on a side note you guys should rename your team to Loyola Marymount and change your QB name to Hank Gathers

The youngest team in the world league scoring 100 pts vs a top 3 team isn't revolutionary? You're really comin off jealous and ignorant, even more than usual

My post quality is suffering from lack of interest. If that isn't a harbinger of the end, nothing is.
