It's OK. Most of GLB thinks 5 star is 19 too.

Hell, I couldn't believe dpryde on GLB radio sounded 40 when I would have sworn he was half that at most.

I grew up in Houston, and I love it. Dallas isn't really my thing but at least it's still Texas. Cleveland, though, I'm not even sure a good wildfire would fix. They had just gotten the river put out a little while before I got there, after all.

To be fair, I've only been to Houston 3 or 4 times, and it was always in the summer. Holy humid! Have had some good times in San Antonio and Austin though.

Houston heat and humidity is pretty terrible. You get soaked in sweat just walking down to your mailbox, and even at 3am the temp is still like 80. However, at least everywhere has air conditioning, because we know it's going to be hot.
Cleveland as a whole seems to be delusional about their summers, as A/C was very hard to find. Which makes no sense because it's 90+ degrees for at least a month every year, how can you pretend it's not coming?

Nothin' wrong with the climate in CA, along the coast anyways. I went to Bakersfield (inland) once in the summer and thought I was going to die. It gets hotter than Phoenix there, and 0 to do. Have considered moving to San Diego a couple times. I think the all-time record in Phoenix was like 122. lol. Anything over 110 in the summer is extreme. You really can cook an egg on the sidewalk then.

Too many people, too much city, no thanks.

Lol, so true. Every year you hear about old people dying in their homes in the northeast (Chicago, New York, etc.) when a heat wave hits because there's no a/c in the older buildings. Jumping from a/c building/car to a/c building/car in the summer in Phx is just like jumping from heated building/car to heated building/car in the northeast in the winter. No one hags out outside on purpose for those 3 months a year. Though I do play softball year round here in Phx...our games just don't start until it's dark in the summer.

So is this like the special olympics of city arguing? Seriously debating cleveland and phoenix and shit like that? Can we move this to to the "argue about 4th rate cities" subforum?

I'm on my 2nd window ac unit of the summer here. Though the first one was a free from a friend so i wasn't as bummed when it died though i did have to go through 2-3 nights of high 90s temp with no wind

Give me my moments, I was stuck in Cleveland for 3 years with nothing better to do than polish up my rant on how bad it sucked.

Seattle, ftw

No better place for 5 months of the year.

Then we cut ourselves

for awhile

then the cuts heal

then we enjoy 5 months of summer/fall.

I admit, this has not been my best forum contribution. I blame it on a perfect storm of events; delayed flight + internet access + offseason.

Well, we do live on 2 Lakes, and a sound.

But I promise, I've lived in CA, from the east coast originally, etc. and there is no better place in the summer and fall than Seattle.

It's called the Emerald City for a reason, even if it takes 7 months of rain to make it "emerald" for 5.
