When science and cancer treatments and doctors work and cure someone's cancer or send it into remission... how the fuck is someone's first instinct 'god and prayer did it, I put my trust in god over man'? There's so many things wrong and infuriating about it including the fact that he's acting like the treatments were supposed to do something else apparently.
As hurricane Sandy approached, there was a very religious man who lived on the coast. Forecasters warned of rising waters and his friends were all bugging out to higher ground. When asked if he would go, he replied "The Lord will protect me" and decided to stay put.
As the storm was raging and water rising, he went up to his roof. A boat came by and those aboard offered to take him to safety, which he declined saying that "God will look after me." A couple of hours later, as the water was rising up the sloping roof, a Coast Guard helicopter lowered a basket for him, which he declined, shouting "I put my faith in God."
After he drowned, he was standing before God, being welcomed into Heaven. The man was humbled and joyful to meet God, knowing that his lifetime of faith was validated, though he couldn't help but ask God, "Why didn't you help me during the hurricane?" To which God replied, "I sent you a warning, a boat, and a helicopter; what more did you want?"
