Lizard Lick - Memphis was a great game, as expected. Unfortunately, we had some struggles in the red zone, and the River Rats' running game really showed up in a big way. With any luck, we'll see you guys again in the playoffs.

Today's game against Viridian should be another good one -- our 2nd straight game against a team sitting in the Top 2 in the East.

It was a pretty damn good game. You guys really limited our running game, but our defense pulled out another great game, and our kicker was on fire today.

I know we (Tennessee Fury) are better than 15th overall. After all, our losses came (at the time) against undefeated teams. We've had some stiff competition, but managed to knock off #6 (Viridian Vanguard), which is a very good team. Since that time, we've won 4 games straight.

It's going to be an interesting matchup with Washington Slashers (7-1) this week. Despite the difference in the records (as they have only faced one quality team), our teams look fairly comparable. It should be a hard-fought, close game.

Our game was very close indeed. It's great to see you guys move onwards, and we hope to see you worthy folks in the playoffs.

Nice work o5prey. I think that's about how I would rank those in your division as well. If you're really bored and want to do it for the East, I'll applaud you.

I might do the Eastern conference later. It was a pain to enter in the info about each team's opponent win percentage. I can do updates more easily each week, but the initial was time consuming.

O.K. Owners place your votes. I've gotten 7 back so far. Make sure you are looking at both the east and the west. I need your top five total teams.

Players and GM's make sure you owner votes if they haven't already.

I didn't realize your poll was for the entire league. I sent my revised votes.

The Mid-Season Coaches Poll had a better % of voters than the Pre-Season Coaches Poll (22 votes to 15). 22 of the 32 owners filled out their ballots and here are the results.

First place votes in parenthesis.

1.….Barbarian Horde………………..109.….(21)
2.….Memphis River Rats……………83.….(1)
3.….Richey Royals…………………..72
4.….San Francisco Fire………………56
5.….San Diego Demolition………….23
6.….Viridian Vangaurds……………..21
7.….LLLL………………………..……14
8.….Death Valley Grave Diggers……11
9..…Washington Slashers……………7
10….Driftless Area Gamers………….3
11.…Oklahoma City Strikers…………2

No change at the top as the Barbarian Horde (8-0) collected 21 of 22 first place votes. Second leading rusher, with 934 yards, Sgt. Hard Head for the Barbarian Horde, shown here talking to his team before a game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FptSc8OwJG0&feature=related, was unavailable for comment; but said he plans on reviewing all options and issuing a formal statement after he gets all the facts.

What’s big question in Memphis… Is Kane able. Jake Kane of the Memphis River Rats, 10 TD passes this season, took time to talk to reporters. “We really seem to have things clicking here in Memphis. I went out and bought all of my O-lineman isotoner gloves and they’ve kept me off my back all season. I can’t tell you how proud I am of this team.” The River Rats (8-0) are the number 1 team in the Eastern Conference.

The Richey Royals (6-2) dropped from 2nd to 3rd in the rankings. Dusty Turner, league leader in rushing TD’s, said this, “You have to give 100% in the first half of the season, If that isn’t enough, in the second half, you have to give what is left. This game is funny, you know, 90% of it is half mental.”

At (6-2) the San Fransisco Fire are a very talented team. If fact they have the highest level player in the USA A #6 Conference. William Quantrill, Level 17 TE, had this to say after hearing his team ranked 4th. “I enjoy playing for the Fire. I wish we didn’t have off-days, I’d play everyday.”

One guy who knows something about putting people on their back, Sex Machine for the San Diego Demolition (7-1) is tied for the league lead in pancakes with 84. “One thing I really enjoy about this team is the excitement. Everyone just wants to win and that is very contagious. The San Diego Demolition round out the top 5 teams.

Thanks for your work Bill, very cool. I would also like to let everyone know that I was not the one guy who voted for the River Rats, but whoever did, thanks Lol.

Some of the owners didn't list them in order of their votes, they just sent a "top five in no particular order" I gave the Horde those votes (I hope that was cool). Some said that one team was number one and then the next 4 were tied for number 2. The River Rats really did get one vote though.

I'm just glad to see our team made the list... We hope we can prove ourselves by staying on the list at season's end...
