Yeah and they went 4 WR pass spam, when they are normally 50/50 run pass out of that formation. They gambled and went all in on one thing and it paid off. GG jhigg.

Holding you to 3 YPR doesn't help much either.

And SEATTLE FALLS!

The Team That Shall Never Hold a Name for Too Long upsets #1 Seattle by gambling on an all pass attack which is out of character for them and running a very tight and efficient run defense. Seattle much like MEM relied heavily on their QB runs to get the job done with 27 carries 9 yards vs the HB 32 for 165.5 yards. It ended up being the difference as it caused enough stops that's the gamble on offense was efficient enough to seal the deal. Seattle though is more then strong enough to keep there #1 ranking. Now how will the rest of the season play?

Prediction was Seattle by 10

Seattle lost 6-21

I still wouldn't consider a near 50-50 split as relying heavily on the QB runs but that's just me

When 3 players are involved and 1 = 2 its not an even split. Especially when such reliance as just seen can cripple a team bad. My HB had a 6+ypc and probably the only time I'll ever be able to brag that I beat the other 2 in yardage or efficiency. The gamble defensively for jhigg was key on the qb. He got thrashed (just looking at stats) by the HB holding the QB to 18 tfl on 27 carries and only 9 yards.

You're looking at it in terms of each individual splitting runs which in that case then sure, heavily QB reliant. The way I look at it is if it's just called a qb run or hb run, doesn't matter who is carrying it. The way I see it a 50/50 split isn't really crippling if you try to balance things out. Obviously if you stop one form of running or the other it'll help your chances but that's the risk you take with a 100% running team.

Surprised by the final score but after watching the game hub city didn't do themselves any favors with that offensive game plan

Good game from the hornets nonetheless but I'd like to see them try that versus Seattle or MEM.

It is matter of perspective and for me I detest qb run reliance. You can justify it as 50/50 qb/hb but when you do that it makes it more efficient to gamble on stopping the qb. Qb is one build vs 2 builds on HB and more then likely different effectiveness. So stop the QB and you stop half the offense. Safe gamble in my mind.

I'm always game especially since I'm now easily the questionable top 5 team after losing 2 ranks (after league game) when we had a 41 point blow out win. My League isn't as strong as the others.

Well then you'll be interested in seeing how MEM changes this off-season more than likely. We were going to change this off-season a little but held back until things started to pan out offensively some more.

And the problem with gambling on stopping the QB is you are more than likely leaving the middle vulnerable against the HB.

I haven't watched the game but. 18 tfl on 27 touches kills drives. You play 50/50 qb/hb and you focus on killing the qb you don't have sustainability from the HB. Because you run too many chances of qb being called 2 of 3 times in a set of downs over the drive. I'll give up 5-6 ypc to a HB when over the course of a drive its likely to stall because of qb.

Remember we held Seattle to 9 last season and MEM to 14. We just stalled on offense ourselves. But all 3 teams are much improved compared to last season. So just looking to get my chances to validate my team. Its my turn to prove I belong in top 5 now especially when my goal is ladder trophy to go with league ship.

its a tough road but with a dangerous pass game and smart scouting anything is possible.
