Right. It is a build issue. Does that mean maybe defenses need a few more points in order to put up a decent fight against 'extreme' teams? Maybe.

Abused through the air??

they are 10-4 and have given up the least # of passing yards (and rushing yards) in Cheetah.

They lost to the #2 Generals 21-24
they beat #10 Dakota 13-21
they beat #3 Brisbane 13-7

Yes - Air Raid gave them by far their worst loss of the year (and maybe would beat them 10 out of 10 times - I don't know) -- but "abused through the air" doesn't lead to a 10-4 record (unless they are playing me every week).

all 3 of those teams also run the ball, look at the actual qb stats, dakopta's qb had a 95 rating, Jersey had an 89 qbr and brisbane was 65 mostly because its a screen offense which is stopped by run stopping teams. The qbs have great days but the point spread made it look closer because all 3 run the ball too.

Only issue with that is that even with a varied playbook you can still call the same play 3 times in a row cause of RNG. It's not like GLB1 where you have complete control over what gets called in every scenario possible.

I've got 8 different pass plays in Air Raid's medium pass playbook, all at different priorities, and I've seen us go 3 and out running SB Trips - WR Posts 3 times in a row, even though it's not my highest priority play.

RNG can already screw you in a million ways. I dont think 1 more possibility is enough to discard thew idea. Also i meant a buff for every pass play, not the exact same pass play. if you never run the D should take notice.

Yep.

If a team never runs (or passes) then the defense should get better as the game goes on. I don't think it should be immediate but if the offense throws (or runs) 10 plays in a row, the defense should get an awareness buff. Another 5 plays and toughness is increased (or some mechanism put in place to increase morale when the defense has a good play). After a few more plays technique gets a buff. If a team continues to be predictable the after 20 plays, another awareness buff.

I'm not talking massive buffs here, but enough to simulate the defense starting to catch onto what the offense is doing. This would also help reverse morale spirals.

The buffs to the defense would slowly go away as the team mixed up their playcalling.

I can get behind that idea. It'd directly impact the extreme teams.

Best idea so far though I think youd have to tweak it where its a flat % buff to skills instead as then teams would just game around the 20 play tech threshold. instead it maybe better to have it where every like 2-4 plays of either passing or running consecutively gives the defense a % increase to stats. This increase would decay as teams mix it up. For example: Team a runs rushing plays in a row (for this example the increase would be every 4 plays at x% increase) so the defense is sitting at tier 2 (8 consec plays) of the buff. Now Team A goes another 4 plays with 3 runs and 1 pass, because they didnt have 4 consecutive of either run or pass the defense decays a tier and is now at tier one. Obviously this would take number tweaks but in theory it should work since this is at its core your idea with a few tweaks

I'm loving these guys with middling crappy rookie teams telling everyone how to build.

I almost wish Jampy was still around. Almost.

Agree. Those guys don't have a clue!

Jampy and Xavori disappear while Galactic Empire appears out of nowhere...

coincidence?

If I could have put a lock on their thread that owners of a team outside their tier top 10 couldn't reply, this thread would have been more productive. There are too many people with like two total players, or a owner/gm win pct of .500ish or worse that think they understand the game and builds...

well mostly wanted to point out that you don't need to be a gm or owner to know how to build, but i agree if you only have 2 players you may not have the best experience to build players
