He assaults morale with the best of them on that offense, but his team is equally vulnerable to the tactic.

It's a solid strategy on his part - build players who win their rolls 90% of the time, and you don't lose morale. It's why I never put points into heart for any of my run blocking fullbacks. But when you find that team that can win rolls early...

The thing is, I don't think you need a ton of heart. Even getting it to 25 makes a very noticeable difference in your ability to manage your morale bar throughout a game. 40 heart would be more than enough for many positions. And toughness is another skill that it doesn't take much to change your results dramatically on lots of positions. Linemen need more of it, but your secondary, receivers, etc... as little as 25 can dramatically improve their resiliency.

- Trash Talk can only take a QBs morale so low, based on toughness < THIS IS JUST F'IN STUPID
- Trash Talk morale penalties decreased by about 25%

The devs did not even know what was wrong with TT in the first place how is it they think they can make a good fix?

The only thing they had to do was make it do what it said it was supposed to do. It was broken not overpowered.

Well if TT says it is fine...maybe it is.

Now it is worthless.

What did you think needed changed on it before? Maybe I don't understand it but I thought the changes addressed the issue.

What was the issue?

The floor is the problem.

Basically, a GOLD SA has just been rendered completely useless at a certain point.

Example:

My S* QB has a Toughness of 62. Let's assume this means that once his morale hits 62, a Trash Talk won't talk it any farther down. (Who knows if this is right.)

So while some early TTs will fire, once he's at 62 morale, his morale can't go any lower from TT. Effectively rendering a GOLD SA useless.

On the flipside of this logic, A Trash Talker will keep it very difficult for a Quarterback to recover to a point above 62 consistently as well. Trash Talk isn't useless after it drops morale to the floor. It effectively keeps it there by continuing to exist.

You are assuming that you have any idea where the floor is set based on 62 toughness. You don't. You just made that up.

You are also going to continue to punish QBs that don't make a massive investment in toughness.

Assuming you start coming across a ton of high toughness QBs, it should also mean that they have had to spend a bunch of points JUST to counter one OPed SA, since most people wouldn't bother getting high toughness on a QB otherwise (as they rarely get hit at the higher levels).

Then, you are going to be able to effectively freeze the morale of the QB at the floor, so that after a first down or a TD, the QB will be able to be Trash Talked right back down.

So your one SA is forcing QBs to make a huge build change and is still going to affect the morale of the most important player on the team.

If anything, has this gone far enough to nerf TT? (I know how hard it is to do so)

Currently it has done enough to limit the effects but that is a band aid. Basically a Gold TT build will just floor the QB's morale.

Why do that when it could have just been fixed to work as it was initially supposed to.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/98747 I can't say it's really that large an investment that it significantly changes his build.

That is a superstar. You have a lot more room to be flexible on a S*.

This is the S* QB build that I had in mind three seasons back:

Pass Technique - 95
Pass Accuracy - 80
Pass Power - 67
Pass Consistency - 69
Drop Backs - 25
Pocket Awareness - 63
Pass Awareness - 68

Balance - 30
Footwork - 27
Quickness - 25
Sprinting - 9
Conditioning - 35
Toughness - 25
Heart - 55
Leadership - 70

Those aren't caps, those are final skill point numbers... I find that QBs skills are quite expensive and that you aren't going to be able to hit most of the caps you have on Belgarath.

I'd probably sacrifice about 20 leadership and put that in toughness from the build I envisioned three seasons ago, but other than that, I'm still not really scared of the Trash Talk meta.
