Basically, if I did it, it would be on GLB2 first, since it would be simpler to get into place. If it was well received I'd consider doing it for GLB1 as well.

I mean, if I made the team now, it would need to be part of a league or it would break the code. People could also only send a total of like 6 quick scrims a day before it hit the cap. So I'd need to add a new column to the teams column and have Bort update the database, then I'd have to go through all of the previous code to make sure it checks that column before trying to load leagues and such, and make it ignore other limitations that would need scrapped.

Then of course setting up an interface that makes it easy to find the team, and working that into the current interface somewhere.

Oh, and add a script that gives out trophies or whatever to teams that happen to beat that team.

Right. That was kinda my original idea on the test server running a league with all the admins separate from the game in which we as non admins could scrimmage against daily for fun. Couldn't you just create a league and duplicate said team throughout the league allowing people to scrim any of those teams?

Ya I imagined it would be done here first with this being easier and the current focus.

Not easily, especially without direct access to the database. Even if I did have direct access, there's a lot of stuff that would be hard to just "duplicate". A lot of tables have a lot of relationships with other tables.

I'm thinking if I did it, I'd just have a single league that could accept indefinite scrimmages, and add all of the challenge teams to that league.

But then, not having direct access to the database or console, it's not easy for me to just fabricate a league and teams.

A bunch of money? No.

I think the bigger success from such a project would be if you actually got some attention from it for people to try GLB2. I think playing a game with Santa and reindeer sprites could go viral. Especially if it has some quirky stuff in it.

Remember the special NBA Jam players?

Santa and reindeer sprites are also something that wouldn't happen.

I had to ask for help a few days ago on how to make a circle with an outline in the newest photoshop. Graphics are pretty low as far as my expertise go.

And considering it took Bort "over a hundred hours" to change the sprites from their old version to the new version, I'm guessing that wouldn't be a worthwhile pursuit for him either.

I was going to say good luck with that considering Corndog's plays didn't make it to the live server because he couldn't do play art for them. XD

No lie though...superstar players made to look like Santa, Reindeer, Jesus, The Easter Bunny, a Leprechaun, Martin Luther King, Obama, Bort with his balloon, a Turkey, Groundhog, etc....would have been a much better time investment than live play calling.

Would the graphic design be easier if it were just one player on the field or would it not matter?

Based on the sprite animation chart DB just posted, unless you wanted them to be static images, it would be an incredible amount of work.

I am sure a bunch of white dudes chasing Martin Luther King on a pitch play would go viral on facebook pretty quick, though.

Would be like a neat reward for an MVP instead of game changing equipment. Season ends just before the start of December and the MVP is awarded a Santa Suit. The entire following season that MVP looks like Santa Claus. Gives more incentive to stop that player when playing them that season and brings attention to it. Different leagues could have different things. Those would be special though. The inaugural ones would be based off the leagues of course. Cheetah's, Bears, cobra's, hawks...now THAT would be loads of entertainment.
