The World League writeup......................(the playoffs are here!!!!!)

Let's start with the Irresistible Truths (named after yours truly).

1. Winning a perfect season in pro does not guarantee a playoff spot in World League.
2. A perfect season in WL may mean you put forth your best effort but it does not mean you win all your games or make the playoffs.
3. Do not cry on the WL forums because there is no pity.
4. A perfect regular season in WL does not mean you will win 1 playoff game.
5. Prayers to the SIM god will no longer be heard on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.


Here is the writeup/predictions for the World League (Zeta).


Asau Golden Eagles
This team has seen many WL championship games. But they still do not consider the Dogs of War an easy win. The eagles come into the playoffs at the number 3 spot. The original prediction had them entering the playoffs at position 6. The Eagles actually lost to the Dogs of War in game 3 of regular season. This was one of the games that contributed to their rocky 2-3 start thru game 5. Since that game they found their "wind" streak and have been flying higher ever since. Looking good. GL in game one. Epic rematch here.


All the Kings Royal Men
The King of Bling owns this team. It was a good run. You guys made it fun all season. The early predictions said to put all you got into those first games to buffer you through the end. You were 4-4 in first half of season (game 8) and 2-6 in the second half. Seems we were right in that prediction. We did move you to position 10 by the second game. But you finished in position 12. The team is great and very competitive. GL in the future and as always.....for King, Kountry, and Bling!!! or as Orlando says....for the Skipper, the Gippers, and the Strippers. All hail the King!!!


Venom Dot Ball Academy
This team was was originally predicted at number 12. That was revised to position 10 after game 2. VDA finished the season at position 10. They ran a good run but ran into some bad luck in the last 4 games against tough teams at home and mini-helmets away. The loss to the duckies was almost a back breaker in game 15 but they just could not get the bad taste of Cro out before game 16. You guys had a rough start with 1-4 by game 5. Almost turned it around going forward with a decisive win against the Prime Timers in game 10...but almost does not cut it in WL. To the Doctors of the Dotball Academy.... You will be missed in the playoffs. GL next season.


Sunday Funday
Mr Homage runs this team with an iron hand. My way or the highway. Looks like the highway sir!!! We had you ranked at number 1 in the beginning and at number 1 after 2 games. Then you failed to bring out the "rusty trombone" and just started falling where by game 5 you were 3-2 as better teams brought you down to reality. I will say that you made Carthage Clash, in game 11, make the Funday Face and that was so cool!!!!!! You did dash the hopes of the King's men and almost dropped the Gurupies out the playoffs in game 15. The Dogs saw it coming and threw a mini-helmet the day you came to town!!! Not that is how you go out!!!!!! Feared!!! Well met!!! GL next season.



New Orleans Gurupies
You guys are sooooooooooo lucky!!!! Falling towards the end of the season and still managing to beat the MOFO MICE with not much left in the tank!!!! You guys are not to be underestimated!!!! The prediction had you guys at position 5 at the start and then position 3 at game 2. You lost some games we thought you should have won but hey, what do I know. Can you say that it has been a mini-helmet season for you guys? I don't think they can mini-helmet in the playoffs so that is good news. Well done. GL in the playoffs.


Odessa Mojo
This name that fits this team. Can they get their MOJO back from the MICE is what everyone wants to know. This team got their steam roll on and stormed into regular season seemingly unstoppable!!! But then the steam started to fizzle a bit with the lost to the mice. Then it was downhill to the end....1-4 in the last 5 games. Hold on a little bit longer was the chant!!!! The original prediction had you guys in position 3 and then in position 2 after 2 games. You finished at position 4 but we did expect more. Word on the street says the "Raider Nation" effect wore off after the mice game. Interesting. Watching out for that final game of the Shockers vs the Mojo. but what do I know. GL in the playoffs guys!!! Great team!!!


Orlando Prime Timers
This is a first class team. The owner, Crowlnole (GLB'r since Mar 2008), has a saying.....show me the money!!!!! And it showed in the last 5 games!!! And another mini-helmet in game 3. Subject to Irresistible Truth number 1 early in the season, the Prime Timers turned it around. Original predictions had this team at position 15 then 13 by game 2. Seems you had a rough start but really pulled it together to finish at position 5. Much kudos!!!!! I will let you know that La Flama and Sunday Funday were trying to destroy your playoff hopes in game 15 and 16 respectively. But you did not falter!!!! Well done!!! You deserve to be in the playoffs!!! And good luck!!!!


Nairobi Warthogs
This team is interesting. You almost made it to the bottom. I was rooting for you. The Cult tried to help you out in the last game but you just had too much too late and you needed just a little less to be number 1....from the bottom. Oh well there is always next season!!!! Early predictions had you at position 7 and at position 7 after 2 games. I was really wrong on this and I am sorry. But you really made it fun!!!! GL in the future!!! Great Team and owner!!!!



Dogs of War
DA DOGS!!!! DA DOGS!!! Like "DA BEARS!!!" but promounced "DA DOGS!!!!" Always exciting to watch you guys play. Mauler got some breaks and lost some breaks. Rough season if you ask me. But you made it. Early predictions had you at position 11 and then at position 9 after game 2. You finished at position 6. But you had to fight for it. Down to the last 2 games. You guys had to fight for every inch. Mauler, I hope you get the breaks you need in the playoffs. Tell Jerry Maguire hello and welcome to the playoffs. GL.


Republic of Benin
Looks like the Republic of Benin came in here and started pounding and pounding. And they just did not stop pounding!!! And man there are a lot of hurt teams. Early predictions had RoB at position 9 and then at position 12 after 2 games. I guess I made them mad. All I know is they came roaring through and left a trail of dead bodies in their wake. I get it!!! I get it!!! I'm sorry!!! Now they finished at number 2. Just took that position from the position 3 and 4 teams with some excellent dotball!!! Well Done!!! Well Done!!! This will not stop as they go into the playoffs. GL Republic of Benin!!! Game Face!!!


Carthage Clash
This team was a big contender in WL last season. And this season was no different. I did think the mini-helmet should have done more in game 12 but what do I know. All your games were nail biters and could have been predicted either way. What I do know is that none of them were gimmies!!!! Almost made it to the playoffs. But we know about almost..... Sorry. I have enjoyed your team this season. First Class!!! Well played. GL next season.


Miama Red Hawks
First class team with a first class owner. You guys had the deck stacked against you and all the cheer leaders of DOTBALL were rooting for you to come back and just kick ass!!!! We saw it coming.!!! We called it!!! Early prediction had you at 16 and then at 14 with 2 games in. That was due to chemistry. Then the comeback started in game 7 but was dashed in a close game 9. The Mice are just lucky...what can I say? Take care Valen and Tomcic!!!! First Class!!! GL next season!!!



Cult of Personalities
Sorry WU!!!! We expected more. Early predictions had you at position 4 and then at position 5 after game 2. We expected so much more, not so much less!!! We feel so bad for wu....I mean you. Great team and great owner!!! GL next season!!!


La Flama Blanca
As the season did not turn out so well for this team, they were feared towards the end of the season where they upset the King's Men in a epic game!!! We wanted so much more for this team, but we could say that for all the teams. It is what it is. Early predictions had La Flama at position 8 and then at position 8 after 2 games. We still stand by that prediction but the SIM would not cooperate. GL next season!! Shizzle and Mo Shizzle MizzouDizzle!!! You feel me? We expect/hope you make another WL return!!!! GL in the future!!!!


South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice
Early predictions had the Mice ranked in position 2 and later in position4 2 games in. They finished in position 1 only because the owner lardaddy was taken lightly..... even after my early warnings!!!! Remember that my experts picked you to win even before they knew who you were playing. It was a super exciting season with this team. A lot of upsets and broken dreams from this team. BUILDER BOB HAS GOT THE BUILDS!!!!!! Good Luck in the playoffs!!!!


Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies
Just gave out the samples of Cro like it was subsidized by the Government!!!! T2 opened his mouth to start the forums this season and you made it fun and exciting all the way. Good move in game 15 with a mini helmet against VDA. Might have lost without that one. Did what you had to do!!!! GL in the playoffs..........

Here is what actually happened................................
The Duckies beat the Mice. WOW!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!
All that work the Mice did all season. Not to mention taking the Mojo from Odessa has been stopped!!!! Should have been breaking news on all the networks!!!! They wanted an explanation but lardaddy could not respond with all that Cro he was forced to eat. Man it was such a BAAAAAADDD - D - D!!!! ending to such a great team!!!! In game 7, the Duckies loss by three. In the playoffs, the Duckies won by 14. Let's take a closer look. 1st quarter opened with a drive by the Ducks only to be intercepted by the Mice and a reverse drive ending in a .....blocked FG A what???? A BLOCKED FIELD GOAL!!!! When does that happen? Bad sign. Then two turn over on downs. Looks like these teams were playing to win big. No field goals here. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....... I cannot say that would have won or loss the game though. Mice get another FG in the 2nd and that is all we got. Fans screaming, squealing, and quacking about the play calling. Fights breaking out in the stands on both sides. Feathers and broken tails everywhere!!!! Third quarter starts and the Ducks start to take the game more conservatively with a FG on 4th and inches. And there it is.... score tied at 12:43 in the fourth!!! The next drive by the Ducks is stopped by 2 key sacks. While the Mice are stopped on a key play by the MB of the Ducks. Nice play Mr Blair!!! Still tied at 10 at 9:01. And then a repeat. Ducks stopped by 2 key sacks. While the Mice are once again stopped on a key play by the MB of the Ducks. Once again, nice play Mr. Blair!!! My fingernails and toenails are gone at this point and I am chewing on some old bubble gum I found stuck under my seat!!!! SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN I YELLED AT THE FAN NEXT TO ME!!!! HAVE you no respect GODDDAMIT????? Still tied at 6:29. On the next drive it was more of the same. Mice are sacking!!!! Fans from the upper levels spilled some beer on me but I don't feel a thing. Then the punt!!! The stupid punt!!!! Prosecution calls the player Chester McLovin to the stand!!!!! We did not even ask for testimony, evidence, or deliberation. Just a GUILTY VERDICT!!!!! GUILTY!!!!!! GUILTY!!! Man....I lost it!!! Mouse traps went off everywhere and I shit my pants!!!!! Just turn it off and make it stop. The break goes to the ducks and lardaddy gets hooked up to the pumping rubber bottle that shovels Cro like a cement truck!!!!! No sympathy!!!! Empathy maybe .... but no sympathy!!! Was a great run Mice. Really enjoyed you all season!!! Sorry it ended this way!!! Swan song playing!!! Good game Duckies!!!! T2 can now talk all the crap he wants!!!! See what you have done!!!! See what you have done???? GL next game Duckies!!!!!!



New Orleans Gurupies beat the Republic of Benin. WOW!!!!!
I made a prediction for this game .... but really, I did not know. The hours of discussion, the pages and stacks of statistical data, the large computers running game simulations based on varying models continued to come up so close that the margin of error could have changed the game either way. It was just that these two teams are so ....... so........ proven!!! That is the word..... proven!!! Post game reviews say a 4.6 average run yardage will be taken every day. Plus, the number of sacks was high. Well done there Gurupies. Looks like Benin just could not get a good foot hold. Let's take a closer look...... Initial drive by new Orleans shows they were firing on all cylinders....run, short pass, long pass. The next drive by Benin was stopped by a key sack on third down that also pushed them out of FG range. Next two drives were nothing interesting and it looked like it was back even going into quarter 2 with New Orleans up by 7. Benin was not giving anything away as the New Orleans drives were not big plays but just a trudge down the field. Once again in the 2nd quarter, a sack by new Orleans stopped the Republic and pushed them back out of FG range. More sacks on Benin started in the second half but I thought things were gonna change with the catch into double coverage In the 3rd at 5:07..... but it never did. RoB did reconstitute the defense to stop New Orleans in the 4th, but the offense never could get a solid footing to recover the score ground that was loss. It's over!!! Coroner declares tim eof death at 31 seconds left in the 4th. And then we wept to a Jazz Tune!!!!! The Republic of Benin really had a great season!!!! They came up and really dominated in WL this season. Hats off to you gentlemen!!! But it still does not make that loss any better. Gurupies did it!!! WOW!!!! Well done!!!!! Great game to both teams!!! GL next season Republic of Benin. GL next game New Orleans Gurupies!!!!!




Asau Golden Eagles beat The Dogs of War WOW!!!!
The eagles are flying so high, so fast. WOW!!!!! We actually predicted the Dogs to win this one because we believed the Dogs wanted it more and Mauler would get the breaks he needed. Plus we thought that the Eagles were already satisfied with their accomplishments this season and might not try as hard. The initial analysis showed that the Dogs got some bad breaks with an interception in the 1st quarter while within FG range, and then a fumble in the first in their own territory, a fumble in the 4th near the Eagles goal line, and strange play calling in the last drive. We won't go into it more than to say that Mauler did not get the breaks he needed to win. So Sorry Dogs of War!!! We hoped it would be different. Eagles did not have a cake walk either so congrats to them for a great game!!!!! but.... but.... GL next season Mauler!!!!! The sim does what the sim does!!!! Hats off to two fantastic teams here.

Odessa Mojo beat the Orlando Prime Timers Expected!!!!
We went with the standard prediction on this one. Looks like Odessa has got their Mojo back!!! The ran the run of their offense and stopped the run of their opponent. Maybe the "Raider nation" effect is back in effect... But I digress.... With -18 yards rushing in the game, I am not really going to go into it Orlando to protect the innocent. Just looks like Odessa all over the field. We will just keep it civil and say it was a great season prime Timers and well done!!!!! The Prime Timers really held their own this season. Made some wins that we thought they would not. See you next season in WL!!!!! On the other hand.....Looks Like the MOFO's have their MOFO back!!!!!!! << WHAM!!! >> << WHAM!!! >> << WHAM!!! >> TAKE IT!!!!! AGAIN!!!!! MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!!!!!! SOOOOOOO...very will done!!!!!!
