Which by the way it seems, would mean Odessa would advance on points. Not that I think they should because the rules need some updating (hopefully we can rectify a lot of this this season), but if Hali takes a forfeit to Portland, then Odessa technically should advance. If Hali is still allowed to play the game, then none of this really matters. I just think everyone should give Hickster some patience to work it out the best he can and understand issues like this happen with any inauguration I am sure we will try to handle this as fairly as possible.

If a 3 way tie happens Hali will still advance. We will forfeit Odessa due to it being the right thing to do. This tournament is meant for fairness and for the well being of the game. The rules are very unclear in the tiebreaker section and that will be mopped up next season. Also no DS teams will participate in future DS sanctioned tournaments due to the ethics of it. If Portland somehow beats Hali 5 zillion to zero I'll plug them in Hali's place. GL ALL

Hahahah, that kinda sucks...if the Addicts took that route, there would be few teams in their tourney. I personally think that's a bit extreme, we should be able to work it out in the future...but if that's what you want, it's definitely your call!!!

I'd prolly just make the rules more clear cut upfront. No need to exclude DS teams.

This tournament was meant for DS to be giving back not to be winning its own tourney. It will be a single elim and no pool play in the future along the lines of Real Thing next season for sure. Honestly we shouldnt have even been in this one.

so now Hali gets a bye? Do you realize what a massive advantage a bye is in a 4 round single elimination tourney? I told you when you started this what you should do, but now we have a team getting a bye based on what exactly? You feeling bad?

Its the best solution because other teams are already matched up against each other due to the bracket being made. Any thing else you feel like addressing gmathias? Maybe a extra gift of free cheese with your wine?

Your inability to put in concrete terms any kind of deadline to play games is what has created this fiasco. When I tell you what you're doing is silly I'm whining, but when Hali does it despite you actually following the rules you set out (Odessa technically had the better point differential), you cave in. I, probably more than anyone else on here, appreciate the time and pain in the ass that it is to organize and run a tournament. But if you're going to do it, act like you have half a clue wtf you're doing.

Dude, WTF is your problem? People make mistakes...one was made here and he did the fairest thing he could to handle it. No one caved in to Hali, we would have done the same thing for any team. It just wasn't right for Odessa to move on in its own tourney when a mistake like this was made. Hickster did a fine job, shit just happens sometimes and I think he did the right thing to correct it, as I'm sure most everyone else will agree.

But you said Odessa was forfeiting. That would make Portland 3-0. Or better yet, if Odessa is just sliding out then by Hali's own argument the tie break between Rage and Hali should be head to head. It should really be Odessa that advances because the original scenario that caused the ruckus is actually moot.
