Right because GLB doesn't have any other design flaws!!

You play with what you're given. If the QB keeps the ball why not play a looser defense that concentrates on the outside lanes, makes sense to me. Besides all the settings in casual are basically approximations of how you want you D to play. Want them to stay close and inside, go run heavy with man to man. Want them to play loose on the outside, pass heavy and zone. Its not about what the damn settings are called its about the effect they have on the team. You think when people with AI's put their safeties out wide to stop pitch plays they sit there upset because they used a pass defense setup to stop a run.

...and if I were an RQB exploit team and saw you defending that way, I'd run the ball down your throat with my HB's for that game. If's funny that you if you stop one you can't stop the other and you don't think that is a problem? Unless you're so gullible that you think Bort fixed to stop the whing? He fix it because it was a design flaw.

RQB teams in the past were unstoppable for the most part, even more so in casual. Especially if they used heavy outside rush with pancaking WR's, or using all TE's to do the same. Very few teams could stop the QB speed and the blocking strength. I have seen a few teams try using a 3-4 and moving the CBs to the ILB positions and the LBs to the OLB and CB positions to keep from being consistently being pancaked. With enough speed and strength built into the LBs, it provided mixed results early in matches, but LBs tired quickly when 3-5 WR formations repeatedly was the called play on a QB rush.

AO has used 6 spies. Then again we've tried everything once, casually speaking.

This is from the Nerd Herd Gator matchup from the end of the regular season last season - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1620631

That was run as a 3-4 with 6 spies, safeties and the four LBs. We had to try out Bort's new rule and see how it looked before the playoffs. We simply didn't have the speed to make it effective. AO was vision based the first 2 seasons.

Good luck using any sort of inside run. If you do that the QB doesn't go anywhere which means both my ILB's are still right in the middle to catch the HB's. Even using outside pass defense the safeties are still only 2/3 the way outside so they would also be hitting you not long after crossing the line, and this is assuming you actually get past the linemen.

Throughout GLB bort has continually 'fixed' things because the community complains about them so much. Right back to season 3 bort was changing things because the coordinators didn't want to adapt. Its the same here. You have a different opinion, you're entitled to it. Personally I have no problem playing against RQB teams and never have had. If people really want to run 3 QB's and never pass the ball all power to them, I know how to work the settings to beat it enough times that my offence will stand a good chance.

Every time something is considered overpowered in GLB it gets changed, rather than letting the players come up with solutions to the problem themselves. In my opinion this is one of the main reasons GLB is such a mess these days. If bort had worked on the actual problems and on improving the system rather than constantly applying patches to sate the bitching community the game would be in a far better state. Again this is just my opinion.

GLB has always been about gaming the system. I'm not talking about actual exploits like using broken plays, I'm talking about making the most of the system we have. RQB's are one way to do that, not the only way. Yes in casual they are hard to stop but by no means impossible. Personally I am always far more concerned by teams with 2 passing QB's and very quick HB's.

The single biggest flaw in GLB is speed. Its curve is insane from early career to late and it basically decides games. A pure speed built defence will take you a long long way (you only have to look at my LU team playing in elite 1 to see this). So I miss a few tackles and take a few FB and TE pancakes, I also tend to have 3-4 players reaching the ball carrier before he gets to 5 yards past the los.

I still stand by my first post. After 5+ seasons it's just stupid that people are still crying about this. Many teams have learned to deal with it and do so very well. Your team is only 3 seasons old which means you could very easily have built to defend against this sort of attack. If you didn't then that's your problem, not a game defect. Simple truth is just because you can't stop them doesn't make it broke.

When I hear this was an exploit, my initial response was "I can beat this!". I had fun trying to figure out a way to beat them. I coach reall life football and one of the many things that you have to teach players is to adapt. Not different in other areas of life. It's the same with GLB.

Take this season for example, My team has sucked ass...and has had some surprising wins. Beating Darkeness is probably the highlight of this season for us.
Take Metrocity Cats...they looked unstoppable at the beginning of the season, and now they're looking beatable. I aim to finish this season at .500...and then make a play for the league title next season.

Final regular season rankings:

#1- Alpha Omega- Been #1 the whole way and they have finished with an undefeated season, so naturally they stay at the top!

#2- Darkness- They have finished top seed in West because of their win over the FILLIES. I think they are very even teams, and I think they might meet again in the Conference game.

#3- MUSTANG NATION TOUCHY FILLIES- Both their losses were very close to Motor City and Darkness. They were 7 points away from an undefeated season!

#4- ReDistrubed- They've had the 2nd seed wrapped up for a while now. I'm not sure how they compare to the western teams but they are definetly a good team and will challenge AO in the play-offs!

#5- LA Smackdown- Our tournament winners! A very good season so far for LA I would say and they did just beat the FILLIES who are in #3.

#6- Nerd Herd Gators- They just destroyed my team! They could beat anyone in the play-offs I reckon, could knock-out some of the teams above in the play-offs!

#7- New Jersey Nightmare- Looks like there's quite a big gap between 6 and 7 but we did beat Detroit and the Outlaws. And Motor City dropped games against 2 teams we have beaten.

#8- Motor City Cats- Looked really good early on but have lost some games lately against weaker teams. I think they will be back to their early season form in the play-offs!

#9- Rocky Mountain Outlaws- They've beaten some very good teams including NHG. Buy they have lost to NJN and Underground Dragons, so they are unpredictable.

#10- Detroit Destroyers- They have a good team but they aren't hard to beat if you set your tactics right

Wow, so we finish 7th in our conference, 11th in the power poll and have beaten two of the teams in the 'top 10'. Considering we only just turned level 21 I think I did pretty well.....on the down side doing 'pretty well' means you all get another chance at me next season

I know you probably should be there but I just can't believe how well you've done!

Where do you think you should have been?
