Belgrade is only losing because of our backups right now. We'll be a force next season once our backups are up to par. We hang with teams easily in the first half and just lose steam in the second half.

shamrocks had better win this game, if we don't our playoff chances look thin

have loved the competition at the top of alpha this season - glasgow, frankfurt, belfast and bow street all very good teams, and the tussles between them have been oh so very close affairs! (for the most part)
it is actually a shame that Ikk Fu have hit hard times and have fallen from the top flight - though i dont envy the ones who have to face them in the playoffs

in a way, i think its a credit to the quality of this league that competition at the top is so fierce, and 'the top' is subject to so much change!

another highlight this season has been the rivalries and local derbies these are the things that really make a season engaging.

the only thing i regret is bow street not really having a local (london) team in alpha to square up to =P

who needs american leagues with such drama?

Having other UK teams in Glasgow and Belfast will just have to do for the rivalry...I'm still smarting from the loss to Glasgow at season start!!!

this week's result just shows how close it is with the UK teams

there's very little to choose between them

Round 10 is finished

Alpha:

Frankfurt met Limerick this week, and despite Limerick currently holding a playoff spot, Frankfurt just massacred them.
Frankfurt stays undefeated while Limerick got pushed down to 8th, but still got a small gap to the next team.

Belfast was the great favourite as the faced off Spaniards who has had a rough season so far.
Belfast started well, stopping Spaniards deep into their own half, making their way to a TD and the first points in the game.
However not long after, it was Blefast's turn to be stopped in their own half, but a lifesaving deflection, forced Spaniards to make a FG.
Belfast struck back immedeatly, but their good offensive drive, got stopped in the redzone, giving them only a FG.
The game went back and forth, until Spaniards managed some good passes, but just as Belfast they got stopped in the redzone, only 1,5 yard from the endzone, gaining only a FG.
Spaniards started the second half hard, making their way towards the endzone, to again be stopped 1,5 yard from the endzone and again getting a FG.
After this the game went back and forth between the two teams, as neithers offense seemed to be able to get anywhere.
As the 4th quarter came, they started making mistakes, giving away turnovers.
On one of these, Spaniards just took the chance on a long FG, which they succeeded, and they were now leading.
But Belfast didn't lose their head, took their time to get far enough up before taking back the lead with a FG.
Spaniards had a good chance of winning still, but Belfast's defense played excellent stopping them from getting anywehre and securing Belfast another victory.
Belfast holds their second place while Spaniards is holding their 10th, and its not looking good atm.

In what was supposed to be the topgame, Bow Street just outmatched Glasgow, never giving them any chance.
Bow Street now holds the 3rd place while Glasgow dropped down to 5th, but both are practically in the playoffs allready.

Lyon massacred Beograde as expected and holds 4th.

It looked good for Sweden after the first half against Marseille, but in the second half they just didn't have anymore to give, and Marseille could take the victory.
With this important victory, Marseille is on 6th while Sweden is still held down on 9th.

IKK Fu massacred Larryville taking 7th.

Reykjavik massacred Clydesdale, but its far up to the playoffs still.

Cork city and Port St Lucie played a close game in the first half, until Port St Lucie proved to be the stronger team abit surprisingly.
This sends them up to 12th while Cork now has 13th.

Zeta:

Berlin massacred leeds not surprisingly and is like Frankfurt also undefeated.

Rome also made a massacre against Camelot and took back 2nd place.

Kilkenny were favourites against Drunken, but it was a really close game still and after first half Kilkenny had managed to score the only TD so far.
In the second half, both teams defenses got tired and they finally started scoring points.
First Drunken tied the game, but Kilkenny took back the lead straight away with a FG.
It wasn't until the 4th quarter Drunken took the lead with a TD.
However this seemed to wake up Kilkenny who with a great pass scored a TD of their own, before intercepting a ball and finishing off the game with yet another TD.
Kilkenny is on 3rd while Drunken still is on 7th, dangerously close to falling out of the playoffs.

London had no problems with BC and holds a 4th.

Buffalo took an easy win over Fighting Irish, still holding their 5th, while Fighting Irish is still on 10th and it just doesn't look like they'll make the playoffs atm.

Shamrocks was favourites against Tranmere, but Tranmere stepped up and outplayed them, taking an important victory.
Shamrocks is 6th while Tranmere is still 8th but it is looking much better regarding the playoffs now.

Vatican defeated Munich easily and is fighting hard to get in the playoffs atm on a 9th. Munich on 11th is more or less out of the playoffs now.

Vikings massacred P-Ville taking 12th place and gains another season in this conference.

While I thought Belfast would win, I fully expected a close game....just not that damn close!! Funny how this game makes you sweat even after the result comes in! Just glad we got out of it alive

Was a great game against Sweden. Now is the time to get rolling like last year.

I`m really happy about our win today. We have truely struggled against the better teams in our Conference since day 1 last season. Hopefully today will be a break though I have been waiting for. We have the talent but its been hard work getting it to gel.

Great game Tranmere it was a tough game. Held us 2X on 4th down in your territory that about sums it up on our offensive end. Nice GP vs our D.

yeah I really rate our defence as it usually does a great job. Unfortunately despite having some talented guys our offence just doesn`t come up with the goods as often as it should. This puts added pressure on the defence and that costs us close games. We have been working on it with a new OC for the last week or so and I hoping the changes we have made start paying off and we can win a few more games.

Bit shocked at two things today...
Didnt think we win quite as easily.
Unbelievable result for Cork over Bow Street. Really shocked when that came up!

Now we have 2nd spot all too ourselves....I wonder how long we can hold it because we are heading into a tough stretch! Just got to finish higher than the 5th spot asmodan suggests!!
