maybe the power back and combo back archetypes are close together because they're basically the same thing. good combo back and a pure power back only differ in weight and how much speed they've got in equipment. you're giving people 2 crappy archetypes instead of one good one. elusive archetype is amazing, the powerback and combo back are average.

Elusive Backs have Speed
Scat Backs have Catching
Power Backs have Strength

I'm not sure what you are looking for. The summary contains questions and answers and the OP of the other post has all the details of the archetype system. What more do you want?

Actually it was an oversight that we missed. I corrected it. We are trying to avoid having penalties/bonuses on the same side of a tree and that one did just that.

I stand corrected, then. If that's what you were doing

Those are just PBs in GLB, not in football. The game is attempting to be as realistic as possible. Jerome Bettis and Craig Heyward didn't get auto-level ups to speed (at least not major ones), but I bet their GLB agility would have been pretty high, since they were both extremely quick off the snap. But on the other hand, there aren't too many true powerbacks left in the NFL any more, if any at all.

In RL good pass blocker are usually tall (Arm span and resist being pushed back) while run blocker are usually the more short linemen (need to be more mobile for traps/pulls/second level).

In GLB all OL are better off being short, which is very much un-intutive. Any chance that the as part of the new Arcetypes we are getting this fixed ?

Here is the best type of back if you chose 2 major attributes

Elusive backs - Speed and Agility
Scat Backs - Speed and Agility
Combo Back - Strength and Speed
Power Back - Strength and Speed

why does every other archetype have their best 2, where powerbacks only have 1? By your argument, Catch, Elusives and Scat backs are too similiar and one should be changed.

A true power back should value carrying over speed, since carrying aids in a multitude of things. Once you start to bring that speed higher than the mid 70's you're going into Combo territory.

Scat and Elusives are both speed based RBs, but have different roles. One is used as a receiver, primarily, and the other is used as a rusher. They've got different SA bonuses, too.

A rough proposed change:

HB Power
5'11" - 6'4", 210-260 Lbs
Major Speed Carrying Confidence Strength (+.5)
Minor Catching Agility Stamina Vision (+.25)
Bonus SA's - Lower Shoulder, Power Thru
Penalty SA's - First Step, Spin

HB Combo
5'9" - 6'2", 200-230 Lbs
Major Carrying Speed Strength Agility (+.5)
Minor Vision Catching Confidence Stamina (+.25)
Bonus SA's - First Step, Spin
Penalty SA's - Power Thru, LTS

Why do you insist on making speed a major for a power back? Power backs are SLOWER, and do not focus on out running defenders. Therefore, they don't need speed as a major.
