It's not about winning or losing it's about One person Controlling 2 teams and totally setting up the outcome of a game. They never were going to lose, they also weren't going to put up 255+ points.

It's not about winning or losing it's about One person Controlling 2 teams and totally setting up the outcome of a game. They never were going to lose, they also weren't going to put up 255+ points.

So you want the ability to GM/Own or any combination of more than 1 team removed? Because I can guaranfuckingtee that this isn't the first time something like this has happened. And this is without including CPL in the mix.

No need to limit everyone because there are a few people that will abuse the system. Just ban those that obviously abuse it. Real bans act as a great deterent. Other sites / games do just that why should this be any different. Bort will sort it out eventually, if you don't deal with asshats harshly you'll eventually just have asshats and a smaller revenue stream. I'm guessing that Bort isn't that dumb long-term.

Wow you are slow. The whole point of his post wasn't to argue that cheating on GLB is the same as murder. The point of his post was to show that your argument that "because only three people were affected, nothing should be done," is a bad argument. Whether Hali/BFM screwed one person, or whether they screwed one million, it doesn't matter, because the argument is that one agent cheating and trying to ruin the game for others shouldn't be tolerated.

I'm just going to point out that when the Kai and MEM agree on something it's probably a big deal and the fact that they agree means that they are probably on the right side of the argument.

So banks shouldn't have alarms or vaults, because obviously, not everyone is a bank robber. They should just throw those who are in jail. I'll give you a hint before you respond. It has nothing to do with banks or jails, but alarms and vaults.

Ruining the GLB experience for people who want to take the game seriously
Discouraging those who want to take the game seriously from spending more money on this game when they have to put up with shit like this from people who openly mock them and mock the system
Costing Bort money in the long run

Now maybe Bort is still swimming in money and he doesn't care about losing money from individual incidents. If he looks at this situation from a business perspective, it is in his best interest to ban the people that are ruining the fun for everyone else.

As I pointed out in the thread that got moved to the mod forum. Take the example of any activity where people spend $ for entertainment. If there is a small group of people that ruin the experience for many others, or a single person who does it, don't they normally get asked to leave. It is good business sense. You would rather lose the business from that one group of person or single person in order to increase the enjoyment of the activity for others.

The decision on what to do with this situation will largely come down to whether or not Bort wants to treat GLB like a business. From a business perspective, it is obvious what he should do. If he wants to treat GLB like a hobby, and keep himself surrounded by people he likes or he thinks are fun, he will probably just let it slide. Given the way he allows some mods to act on the forums, his MO is to treat it like a hobby. And he is probably still raking in enough money from this thing to allow him to continue making decisions like that.

It'scertainly not what I would do to maximize the mileage and $ generated from this great idea he had.

LOL at this being "well put." Why? Well it's the part that introduces personal opinion. People are "ruining the fun for everyone." My fun isn't being ruined, and it has nothing to do with one of my dots being on Hali. How do you measure other people's level of fun? You can't. So you are advocating bans off of best guesses and personal opinion? You don't see the flaw with that? Seriously? Hell, poll results show that what the majority wants never happens in this game anyways. So that said, good luck even if you think the majority of the people in this game have had their fun ruined by the Hali/BFM game result.
