Yeah I used to live in the East Bay and it was Cheese heaven.. now I'm way out in SoCal suburbia... best cheese selection here is found at Costco. Some good stuff to be sure, but far from the culinary heaven of the SF Bay Area.

I just cut the cheese! It smelled like Vieux Boulogne.
There is one type of stinky cheese that could be the stinkiest cheese in the world according to scientists. That kind of cheese is called, Vieux Boulogne. It is a cheese that comes from Boulogne Sur Mer in Northern France and is a soft cheese. It is always aged between seven and nine weeks. One of the things that make it so stinky is that the rind is brushed with beer. Then the beer reacts with enzymes in the cheese to give it that pungent smell.
The Vieux Boulogne even beat out Eposisses de Bourgogne, which is a cheese that is so stinky that it has been banned from being taken on the public transport in France where is made. You can find this variety of cheese in only on shop in the UK and there are two shops in London that carry it. It has a square shape and is about 10 cm wide and 4 cm deep.

Epoisses is pretty fragrant but i didn't think it was so bad where you can't take it on public transport. I've smelled some worse blues with some pretty gnarly blue mold. Stinking Bishop is a bit much for me. Washed rind cheese again but with a pear mixture. Tastes ok i guess. The Veiux Boulogne seems a bit gimmicky but i dunno.

Does anyone watch the show Californication? I was just trying to find something to watch the other day, flipped it on and totally got hooked. I am halfway though watching Season 3, definitely liking it so far. I also really can't wait until Burn Notice returns!

CPL forums are the least active and most boring i've ever seen. There are a total of like 4 threads that were started during season 13. I couldn't be more disappointed considering i just got a player in there

Great show. A lot of it is filmed down near where I live in Venice.
